I had a issue with my Geothermal unit today, called and talked with John and over the phone John was able to got my system up and running. Saved me a service call. A big thanks to John and the Total energy concept team first place I will be going for service.

Don't know what to do. I have the exact same problem. Heating goes down in the middle of winter can't get a service guy for 2 weeks and told dishonestly that he was out of town (later found out he wasn't). Then I was told I had to pay $1980 for the service call because it took nearly 8 hrs. Last time I checked 9 AM - 3:30 PM was 6 1/2 but even at 8 hrs does anyone charge $225/hr? Sick of being jerked around and will NEVER do business with Total Energy Concepts again. James

Total Energy Concepts is a heating/ac company that specialized in geothermal heating/cooling systems. They are based out of Vancouver Washington.

I have a Total Energy Concepts geothermal system installed in my house. They tend to put spare parts together to come up with their working system. When it is completed it looks like a hobby system that an amateur put together. I have to say, the system worked fine for a few years but you will find out who you are dealing with when you go them for service. They have one service tech and he is constantly busy. I had my system go down in the middle of winter and called John Lower for service. He said they would be out the following Wednesday. This was a Thursday. By the time Wednesday came he called and said Thursday. OK, one more day. Thursday came and went without a phone call. I called John and he said next Tuesday. I was not pleased because my house was cold. Tuesday came around and didn't hear from John so I called him. He said his service tech had been working so many hours he gave him the rest of the week off. Great John, thanks. I ended up getting another company to fix the problem and I had heat again, finally.

The system still wasn't right and JW, John's son called and came out to look at the system. He got it going and charged me $1,300 for the call. He said he needed to come back and give me a bid to fix it permanently. JW had done some of the original work on the system so he came back and went through everything and gave me a bid. He had two options on the bid. The first option was for $7,000 and said this would fix it but only temporary. The real fix was $14,000. While he was at my house he told my girlfriend that he was going through a divorce and it was going to be expensive. JW, of course recommended the $14,000 option. I was not about to authorize this until I got another bid. I called Sky Heating and they came and looked at the system. They said there was a few adjustments that needed to be made but said the compressor didn't need to be replaced and it wasn't leaking. They were able to fix the system with just a service call. The moral of this story is, if you think you have too much money please call JW and he will be happy to take your money by giving you a dishonestly high bid.

I would not recommend using these clowns for any kind of work. I really hope you have had a better experience than me.

Thank you,

Joe
