“Well they worked well for me”

Not sure about all the other reviews, made me think hard but I know that some companies pay for trolls to post negative reviews. Ordered Euros on a Tuesday and arrived on Thursday, though their website says it would take longer. Anyway great exchange rate, no issues, though I would not do a rush purchase this way. If you need next day go in person to a bank! Also I was concerned about no Bank verification when pay over money, did not make me feel at all comfortable! Why they would not sort this out is beyond me. Also Trustpilot appear to have a much better selection of reviews and many more, so I suspct the reviews on this site are maybe not very trust worthy.

I have used Travel FX in the past with no issues and their rates have always been reasonable BUT everyone should be aware of their new scam. I ordered the equivalent of £300 of Indonesian, Malaysian, Thailand and Singapore money just so my friend and I can have a bit of cash on us when we travel to the far east on a cruise we were going on. Plus $2000 to spend on the ship. A few days prior to my order, I received an email from travel Fx encouraging me to pay them by bank transfer. Sounded like good idea as it would save the credit card fees. When I tried to do the transfer, my bank blocked it and flagged the transaction as potential fraud. I called the bank and they tried to warn me not to do the transaction. I was confused why not. I contacted travel fx who basically reassured me there was no issue. Because like everyone else, I have had good experiences before, I ignored my bank and authorised payment of almost £3000. To cut a long story short, on receiving payment, travel fx refused to send my currency unless I provided them documentation which included my date of birth, national insurance number, address, bank account details, evidence of where I worked, how much I earned, where the money came from, my flight details etc. Not only that, they asked me to send this via normal unsecured YAHOO email. They claimed this was to meet their MONEY LAUNDERING obligations and illegal activities from HMRC. I said I would send most of the necessary information via a secure platform not email but they insisted they needed all my details. On speaking to my bank and others I was advised not to give them more than the statement from where the money came and my flight and hotel details. This was still not enough so I had to cancel the transaction. However they charged me almost £200 to do the cancellation. Someone should please let me into the trick of how to do illegal activities in a country with £150 per person! I should have listened to my bank. If you must use them, use a credit or debit card. You have been warned.

TRavelFX have taken money from my bank for currency, sent it to the wrong address, charged me additional postage and then sent it again to the wrong address and again demanded I pay for more postage. I demanded a full refund and they are attempting to but the cash back at less than I paid - do NOT touch this company.

Ordered1050 USD tried to pay through my bank which did not recognise the account details given. Believing them to be genuine pushed the transaction through (foolishly ignoring the warning message from HSBC). Transaction went through but within less than an hour HSBC recalled the funds and cancelled the transaction. THANK YOU HSBC FRAUD SECTION! Checked Sitejabber and found numerous complaints about them.

Tip for consumers:
If your bank does not recognise the account details given and advises you to abandon the transaction- DO IT!!! Fortunately HSBC were on the ball and recalled the funds!
THANKS HSBC!!!!

If you want to be ripped off, go for it give your money. They wanted to charge me more than £50 for the cancellation of £300 online currency order which hasn't even been dispatched yet. According to the website, I was able to choose a delivery date for the day after but not even a notification's been received day after. And just now, I have been told that it will be arrived after 5 days of the order. Such a big shame.

Please stay away from this site, they are full of scammers with deceit, if care is not taken, you will lose fortunes to them and they will block you afterwards. I lost so much to these scammers and they thought they could get away with my funds but i took actions on them after i reported my issues, i was able to get back my funds back and brought them to justice.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t use this site, find another because there’s no way to refund unless you report to Chronic Tech Volt on google

Ordered £500 in euro never recived them money was tranferred from my bank account same day. Seven days later no euro posted to me. Travelefx informed me that they never recieved an order from me but had my money and now I have to prove who I am to process a refund with bank statements, my money was transferred to them electronicley by Halifax. There are better more secure methods out there than these fly by nights leave well alone.

Tip for consumers:
Do not use these fly by nights.

I lost over 60 quid dealing with this company. I cancelled before the transaction was completed. They tried to make me believe that they were doing me a favour by waving additional costs amounting to another 25 quid. They then told me i would not be able to email again as they would not answer me and then told me that the currency was being dispatched although i had instructed them to cancel the transaction. Will not use again. I now have to fight to get my refund as the information they require is not readily available.and they dont answer the phone either.

Verified purchase

I placed an order for Euros 5 days before I was due to travel. I completed their online order form and paid the correct amount in sterling into their bank account.

They then found every excuse not to 'dispatch' my Euros. Firstly, they said they didn't receive my money until the day after (my bank has written confirming their bank received the funds on the same day I transferred them). They then said at 09:00 in the morning that they had finished dispatching monies for that day and they would dispatch the Euros the day before I was due to travel.

I told them that wasn't acceptable. I had to beg for my monies back, so I could go and purchase elsewhere. In exchange for me getting my money back they charged me £443 for cancelling my order.

When challenged about their delay in dispatching the Euros purchased, the cancellation fees, the latest excuse is that delays in dispatching currencies are now COVID related.

It is no surprise that the £ to Euro rate went down between my order was placed and when it ought to have been dispatched).

I shall be issuing County Court proceedings to recover the 'cancellation fees'

Dreadful. This firm thinks it is ok to headline using misleading terminology! "We use next day delivery service" actually means that once they get around to popping over to the post office that is when the clock starts ticking. Ordered Friday with a date given to them as required by Monday, They offered Wednesday at the earliest! Flying Tuesday!
Disingenuous and misleading!

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your review.

Travel FX does not offer a next day delivery service. It states in our terms and conditions which you accepted upon ordering that, “we do not recommend that you place orders if you require your funds within 2 business days of ordering”. Since you ordered your currency on a Friday and required it by the Tuesday you did not leave use with this timeframe of two business days ready for dispatch. Our website states that 'We will post your order to you anywhere in the UK insured using a next day delivery service (terms & conditions apply)'. This means, as you have said, once we dispatch your currency, it will be delivered using a Royal Mail Special delivery service which is guaranteed by 1pm the next business day. We will review this headline however as many of our customers are choosing not to read our terms & conditions and therefore thinking that the entire service is next day delivery.

Regards,
Travel FX

I ordered currency and paid by bank transfer 2 days in advance but they failed to deliver on the agreed date.

Then charged me cancellation of £65 of the £400 currency I was converting! Appalling.

I have referred this company to the Financial Conduct Authority.

Do not use them.

Paid £500 for euros notified of delivery for Monday before 1. Waited, no money. Tracked it. Sent to wrong depot. Sent on next day. Wrong depot again. Delivery by 1. No show again. Notified to receive Wednesday before 1. We left for our holiday 7.30 am. Contacted FX to cancel as not now required. Post office will hold it for 18 days. I can collect it or refuse it and it will be returned for a buy back. They told me no chance of a refund. Unpleasant couldn't care less company. Keep away from them. I will persue my claim in court if needs be.

Avoid this Company like the Plague, Bought some Dollars ( $1,500 worth) online and the payment went through, then I got an email saying that my payment hadn't gone through and to re - pay it, but when i went to my bank account, it showed that the money had gone through, it had left my account and was paid into there account, so I contacted them to say that my money had gone out of my bank account into there bank account and too see what was the problem, got a stroppy remark and was told ' NO THE MONEY HAS NOT BEEN PAID ' so once again I checked with my bank and was told that the funds had definitely gone into there bank account, so once again I contacted them, to be told that its not there problem and to speak to my own bank staff, these are the facts 1/ I bought some dollars online, 2/ the money went out of my bank account and into there bank account. 3/ my bank told me that Travel Fx Ltd definitely had my funds, but once again was told by the Travel Fx staff that they didnt have my money and it wasnt there problem, So I now think this Company is a Fraudulent Company, You have to be extremely careful buying from this Firm, I can only suggest you don't bother, because the stress this has caused me today is something I wouldn't like anyone else to suffer. I still have no dollars and I still have a huge chunk taken out of my bank by these people. Avoid Travel Fx Ltd.

STAY AWAY,
Serious privacy issues, before sending your order they may ask you for complete 3 months of your private bank statements, if you refuse they will charge a fee to cancel your order.
Never again!

I ordered £1350 in Polish Zloty on Thursday Night for next day delivery.
On Tuesday 5 days later the currency arrived. It was over 90% 10 Zloty notes. This is the equivalent of £1 notes.
The company were not interested in my complaint. Stay far away.

Had to give it one star because it doesn't allow ZERO. Absolute disgusting company. Read T&Cs before ordering. Gave two working days notice and MY money was taken instantly. They did not fulfil their part of the bargain! AFTER two working days they emailed to say money will be sent this afternoon and with you tomorrow = 3 working days although they claim next day in most cases. Problem I was flying at 4am the next morning. I cant instantly put my hands on another £1500 so looks like I'm about to have to tell my 8 year old son his holiday will have to be cancelled. They offered a refund IF I PAY COSTS OF £148 although they have sat on my money for 2 days and could give no guarantee of when the money will reappear in my account. THIS COMPANY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN MAKING MONEY. THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO EMPATHY OR REGARD FOR REAL PEOPLE. How they sleep at night is beyond me. Must go now to tell me son no holiday! USE THEM AT YOUR PERIL!

STEAR CLEAR OF THIS! ITS FALSE ADVERTISING ON ITS BEST
If this was an honest company they would change their sales pitch to we will deliver at some point and "we will try our best to be next day" or we will sell you the burger but keep the patty.
We started our dealings with these people 4 days before our honeymoon, even in a third world country like Brazil where my fiancé is from that is plenty of time to get things sorted.
First transfer of £9k bounced back not their fault, we lost a day, and because they come out as capable of delivering your order the next day, we trusted the image of the company and placed the order again. After advising them of the delay we paid the money a second time at 1400 we heard nothing from travel fx, no emails on junk or inbox.
They close at 1630 so we assumed someone was dealing with our order and an email would follow. It did but it was at 8am the next day asking for extra security checks. The money had not been dispatched.
Called the customer service to only receive the most appaulling treatment we have ever experienced, asked to speak to the manager Darrel and it was even worst, they must be on some kind of power trip that they operate from the office of the Wolf of Wall Street
BOTTOM LINE
The only conclusion that we come to is that the 5 star reviews are fake and the only real ones are the ones to mention the delivery issues. Its almost like they try hard to not fulfil their promise.
Beware!

***BEWARE*** of buying currency from Travel FX because although they state next day delivery at the top of their website, they do NOT guarantee it! I ordered my currency on Friday morning, expecting to get next day delivery, only to find they were planning to deliver it by 1pm on Tuesday. At the very least Travel FX should email on the day the order is placed if they can't meet their claim of next day delivery. Not only did I not receive the delivery next day on the Saturday, I didn't receive the currency on the Monday either! I just had to pay an extra £20 to receive my currency by 9am on Tuesday in order to catch my flight because they only offer 1pm delivery normally. They didn't even offer to offer to charge me the difference between 1pm and 9am next day delivery, they just charged me the whole amount. Best to order your currency at least 3 days in advance. Needless to say I won't be using them again.

Hi Kim,

Thank you for your review.

Our website states that 'We will post your order to you anywhere in the UK insured using a next day delivery service (terms & conditions apply)'. This means that once we dispatch your currency, it will be delivered using a Royal Mail Special delivery service which is guaranteed by 1pm the next business day. Delivery dates are therefore indeed not guaranteed which is clearly mentioned on our order form. Your order cannot be placed without clicking on the check box which clearly states: “I have read and agreed to the terms and conditions and I understand that delivery dates are not guaranteed”.

We state on our terms and conditions that customers should not order funds if they require them within two business days. Our terms and conditions then go into more detail about delivery including how and when we communicate with you, consequently we are comfortable that we met our obligations and you were aware of what they were prior to you ordering from us.

We are glad you received your money before your flight through Royal Mail's delivery before 9am option. In future do give whoever you decide to use a call as the customer service team can advise further on whether delivery is possible for your required date.

Regards,
Travel FX

This is the worst company I have dealt with in many years. Their communication is dire and they are unhelpful in the extreme. I wanted to complain to the management and that was not possible. They were asking for information I had sent them 20 hours earlier and as a result I had to pay an extra £10 to get guaranteed delivery. They knew they had me over a barrel. If you do go to them to exchange money DON'T give them money upfront - make it the last thing. Get them to sort out the compliance first before you send them funds. But do yourself a favour... AVOID! Go somewhere else.

The worst experience ever. The money was never delivered by travel FX and now they are treating this as a buyback which means they are making money from my money. Plus they want to charge to re-deliver. Don't use this company.
