“Amazing customer service”

I ordered a Blireana Ornamental Plum Tree with pink blossom, however then being a typical woman, changed my mind and decided i would prefer a white blossom tree! I emailed the site and after a conversation explaining what i would like i was sent a Prunus chocolate ice flowering cherry tree. It is in wonderful condition, very quick delivery, and customer service was above and beyond, Highly recommended and i couldnt be happier.

“Just No. Bitterly Disappointing”

Spent nearly £100 on a tree as a surprise birthday gift. I read all the reviews! Thought I'd done my homework. Had a few emails back and forth to make absolutely sure it would be delivered at the right time before I parted with any money and was assured, yes, absolutely, the beautiful leafy fig tree would be delivered in two and a half months time together with the special birthday message. Details were given for the courier company of a safe place to leave it should no one be home. A couple of weeks later I received a call... "You didn't leave a half dead sapling outside our house did you"? So, after explaining that it was supposed to be a birthday surprise and due to be delivered at the end of July, I was sent a picture of the sad specimen that had been left two months early outside the intended recipients home. No note, no birthday message, no packaging and no leaves! Contacted Trees online who basically said, "bla bla bla excuses excuses excuses, bla bla not our fault, bla bla bla early frost means no leaves, bla bla bla, not our fault. I explained that the birthday wasn't for another 2 months and they had promised me delivery would be the last week in July. The surprise was now ruined, the tree looked nothing like the website picture, the recipients had no idea who it was from or why it had been left on their doorstep and it was a really seriously poor specimen. To add insult to injury I was then offered 10% off any future orders as a "gesture of goodwill" and a £5.45 refund. I emailed and said I would prefer a full refund and for them to collect the tree. So far they have not answered that email. This may well not be their usual modus operandi and I can see that in general their reviews are good but after such a mammoth $#*! up, to be given pathetic excuses and an insulting offer of a fiver and 10% off future orders is nothing short of insulting. Buyer beware.

Unfortunately for us, the journey from grower to customer is made up of a minimum of two companies and the "bla bla" you heard is that passed on by the grower and the courier, I will be sure to pass your comments on.

Yes, your instructions were not followed which was human error outside of Trees Online for which we offered sincerest apologies, partial refunds and future discounts which was everything we could possibly do in this situation. Happy to entertain any other option you may have?

Late out of dormancy due to a snap frost was why foliage was late to appear, not being half dead.

We are happy to refund your purchase once returned back to us but as the tree is as described on the website, this would be at your cost.

Trees-online also operates as Internet Consultancy and Management Ltd, Sycamore Drive in Chesterfield. We bought plants from them based on their advertised guarantee at the time. The plants died within a month and we were asked to send photographs. The owner replied by saying his 'tree expert' had said they might not be dead and that we should wait a year before they would give us replacements. We examined the plants and they were definitely dead above and below ground. A year later and the plants we transferred into pots were still as dead as the ones in the ground.

The owner spent months harassing us via review sites because we left a negative review. He made every excuse to try to blame us for his plants dying instead of honouring his warranty. He's even left comments over a year after ordering claiming it was our fault because we dug the plants up. They were already dead!

Avoid this business like the plague. There are plenty of other businesses out there who will actually honour their guarantee.

Tip for consumers:
I would caution anyone against buying from this site

Customer refused to follow the clearly listed warranty procedure, the end of which we would have supplied 100% replacement trees to include postage. The plants did not die, they went dormant as all trees do in Autumn but before we could see their health in the Spring, the customer dug them up and put up a fence. If you are going to take notice of this review, check for every other negative review you can find for Trees-Online. As of 4 June 2018 there are 3 that we know of and they are all this customer.
