“Horrible company, bad business practices, shady ownership”

Mike S.

I did business with this food company for 1 year and saved all my points for a full year. I attempted to use some of my points for a order I made in early July 2021, but their website failed to apply my discount, so I was forced to do it all manually. I called the next day to inform them of this issue and was met with disbelief by the owner and he actually blamed my computer for his website failing to operate properly! I then after this call wrote him a message and sent it to him explaining how I didn't appreciate the manner in which I was treated by him, so his response was to berate me via text message and cancel my entire order and refunding my money. This is how this horrible company does business and they're located in Armstrong, BC, Canada. The owner Keith Hamer was the person who did this to me and he wouldn't accept the fact that his website is not user friendly and malfunctions all the time. I will never buy from this horribly run food company ever again and I must now approach the Armstrong Chamber of Commerce and the BBB to let them know how Keith Hamer does business with the public. I also discovered that much of what they sell is GMO based foods that harm human health.

What you failed to mention is you hung up after yelling at Keith when he called to explain to you why we were no longer doing business with you. We do not condone any rudeness or abuse towards our staff, period. Our drivers, plain and simple, do not want to deliver to you for the fact that if there is anything wrong with your order you yell and curse at them. Customer service doesn’t want to deal with you because most interactions start with you being hostile right off the bat, for example messaging us being upset you received a block of frozen chicken when in fact you ordered fresh chicken and put it in your freezer, causing it to freeze together. You also posted several reviews on our Facebook page about how our “customer service leaves much to be desired” and how our website is “pathetically slow and outdated”. I would first like to address the comments about our customer service, as I am one of the 2 representatives you have dealt with, and I am sorry to hear after countless emails you have sent that you find our service lacking. At no point have you ever made that known to us, in fact, you have always (even though you mainly start off very rude and accusatory in your emails) end by being pleased with what we do to assist you. But I can understand how us promptly replying and offering help with discounts, refunds, and helping you discover you froze your own chicken would lead you to thinking we have poor customer service:)
As for the pathetically slow and outdated website, the only source of complaints we have had come from you. While we constantly try to improve and update our site, we are not able to help your internet connection or the processing power of your computer. That is, unfortunately, beyond our capabilities. But as someone with 30 years of computer experience and 6 college degrees I am sure you already knew that :) You also said a few times in your reviews we blame our customers for our issues. This is simply false. We recognize that we are human and we make mistakes. We are not a large company. We are a small group of maybe 20 people and any issues that are brought to us in a courteous way, we resolve. But as I have said, we will not ever tolerate abuse of our staff.
In short, we stopped doing business and canceled your order because of your mistreatment, hostility, and abuse to our staff. When the entire staff team does not want to deal with you Mike, at some point you need to realize maybe the company isn’t the issue.
We still wish you the best in the future.
