“Easy to discover new things to learn”

A P.
2/5/20

I noticed wikiHow's website got updated, and the homepage shows new articles, things that are trending, etc. It's become a favorite place to find inspiration for learning new things daily. Also, try the special random button! It gives you fun (and sometimes funny) new guides to try.

“We Need To Talk...”

Half of the time, this is a good site, good info. However, there is an article about how to guilt-trip someone and another one about convincing your boyfriend to have sex. Some articles show kids how to sweet-talk their teacher out of giving them detention. Some even encourage children to convince their parents that they are bad parents or don't love them if they don't give them what they want. Many articles send bad messages.

I tried the wikkihow on how to have phone sex, I read that it told me to ask my partner if I could play with his Willy. I apparently read this wrong. This and the rest of the things the wikkihow told me to do made my boyfriend very uncomfortable. Do not recommend.

I recently used wikiHow to get through a breakup, and really felt like I wasn't alone. It's a great site with quick tips you can try right away, and longer steps you can go through at your own pace. I really like that they have quotes from experts too... it's so helpful to know the research and expertise behind the tips. I'm now starting to come to wikiHow for everything, and I can't believe that they really do have every topic you could ever need!

The articles are all very well written with lots of different methods - so I can get a lot of different ideas on how to solve a problem. I also like that I can ask questions on articles and get answers. Overall a great website!

This website while appears to be a "how-to-do" practical things website, turned into a brainwashing and anti parental rights, anti-freedom website. It is teaching kids how to lie to their parents, how to endanger themselves with unavoidably unsafe products without parental consent or knowledge. This website believes that the children do not belong to their parents to raise, only the financial burden and mental anguish to deal with immature and misinformed decisions pushed by this website. Let your kids use this website at your own peril.

Usually I love this wikiHow and I've used it many times and been very happy. Until today I would have given 5 stars. But I was HORRIFIED to see how it has articles teaching kids step-by-step how to LIE TO THEIR PARENTS about VACCINATIONS. This is totally immoral. Vaccines have been proven to carry a lot of health risks (read their own inserts for crying-out-loud) How many teens know theirs or their family's health history? These articles could have serious outcomes for kids if there is an adverse reaction. Oh yeah, and it instructs the kid to lie about that too. This must be rectified. This is no joke. WikiHow should be held financially responsible if one kid gets hurt after they've read through this article.

Selling a house for the first time may seem easy at the first sight. But as you get into the process, you will encounter a lot of things for the first time. You must look for some tips before devising a successful step-by-step plan to sell your house. You need to devise the right plan to sell your house at the best price and in a minimum period. We are here with some tips for you to sell your home:
1. Your house must be presentable
If you are planning to sell your house, then your house must be presentable enough to attract the attention of the buyers. You can do the necessary preparation before you contact any real estate agent or list it in the property listing. You can clean your house, repair work, paint the walls, replace your old carpets and sheets, replace the old hardware with the new one, etc. The buyers coming to visit your house would also like to see your yard and exteriors as well. So don't forget to make your yard look beautiful to the visitors along with what you do to make your house look presentable. Along with this, you can do minor changes and upgrades in some parts of the house, wherever possible.
2. Research the market before setting a price for the house
It's an important step in the journey to sell your house - setting the right price. Research market properly to check what prices are currently prevailing in the market because they play a major role in selling your house at the right price and in less time. A high price would imply that people would not be able to afford it and keep it as the last option. A low price would make buyers think that there are some flaws in the house and that is why you are selling it at a lower price. So set the right price before listing your house anywhere. Moreover, the investors or buyers for your house will research the market before coming to you. So you also have to research the market properly to negotiate for the price and get the price that you want.
3. Visitors should feel an emotional connection with your house
For a buyer to be convinced to buy your house, he must feel emotionally connected to the house. For this, remove extra furnishings from the house and remove all your photographs and personal belongings. Your buyers must be able to look at the house as their own home. This way, it will be easy for you to sell your house.
4. Book an appointment with movers
Contact movers in advance to reduce the chances of any delay in relocating after you have sold your house. For example, let's consider that his busiest month of the year for the movers in Sacramento is April, May, or June, you may face difficulty in booking an appointment with movers, and so you can visit Sacramento movers in advance to avoid the chances of delay. You can start packing your belongings as soon as you list your property for sale in the market. Selling along with packing and moving altogether would become extremely stressful for you. So you can initiate the process of packing in advance to avoid last-minute stress and remain peaceful for the time being.
5. Analyze selling options and cost
There is not just one way of selling your house. There are plenty of ways to sell a house. You can either sell your property directly or you can list in the listings, or you can contact an agent. If you need to do a lot of paperwork and you have some tax-related problems related to your house, is it better for you to go for direct selling? You can get your property listed as well. But you need to repair, paint and clean your house before listing it, and selling a listed property requires a lot of time. You will have to analyze the cost like repairing and other listing costs. You need to consider the time duration from listing your house to being sold. If you hire a real estate agent then you need to incur charges such as commission, fees of the agent, and other costs. So you can decide the option according to your needs and convenience. For instance, if you think selling your house directly is a convenient option for you, then go for a direct selling option.
6. Don't ignore Millennial
A large proportion of buyers are millennial who want to buy their house according to their needs. They constitute the largest number of buyers in the market. You need to cater to the needs of the Millennial to sell a property to them. They don't prefer big homes, instead, they prefer small homes that fulfill their needs.
7. Work with experienced professional
If you take the help of real estate agents to sell your house, then work with people who have a good experience in this field and have a reputation in the market. A real estate agent with a good experience has good knowledge of prices prevailing in the market and understands the needs and demands of the customers.
If you wish to list your house in a listing to sell your house, appoint a professional photographer to get beautiful and clear pictures of your house that represent your house nicely in all pictures. This will help you in getting a good buyer for a house easily and in less time. Choose an experienced listing agent for your house. They will help in getting an accurate price.
Selling a house is a tedious task and if you don't consider all the problems and requirements properly, you might end up in a wrong deal or won't be able to sell your house at all. Be open to negotiation, house visits, and do everything to make your house look beautiful and appealing. The process can make you feel overburdened and stressed with a lot of things. There can be delays in the dealings, and if you are not working with the right people, then many other problems may knock your door as well. So follow all the steps carefully to get a good deal for your house.

I have come across this site haphazardly on occasion, but I never realized how all encompassing it is! How to do... just about ANYTHING you can think of! And in a way that is UNDERSTANDABLE! I can't believe there are negative reviews! YES there are answers to simple questions. They are needed. BUT there are instructions on how to begin speaking a foreign language and other more complicated answers also!

I think another user hit the nail on the head when they pointed out that the site is WAY over-moderated. You can't submit legitimate changes to an article without some power tripping idiot changing it back less than 15 hours later. The moderators aren't experts on a lot of the subjects, yet they're more than happy to leave information up (or out) that could have serious legal or health ramifications.

If you want how to information on simple things like how to boil an egg, this site is a good resource. If you're looking to get information on anything that could be dangerous, has anything to do with running a business, or any matter that could leave you open to litigation; I wouldn't rely on the site for information that is accurate or complete.

I mostly use wikiHow for cooking and home improvement tasks. The site does a good job of making technical processes feel easy understand using different forms of media without sacrificing specificity or completeness. One of the articles I've come back to multiple times is about how to tie a tie, and it's been cool to see the changes the page has undergone since the first time I visited it - it now has multiple methods and each step has a detailed illustration with annotations. I appreciate that the wiki format allows wikiHow to get better over time.

Coming at this from a reader's perspective. WikiHow's become my go-to because of how empathetic and authentic the site is, especially in such a clickbait-y world. It's apparent that wikiHow is a place where people care to help each other.

Overall, I feel like I'm asking a friend for their advice or their personal experience with the security of knowing that a lot of the articles are verified by experts or tested by real people. I really appreciate that a lot of the solutions range from simple and straightforward to a little quirky to pretty complex and niche. It's a great mix of helpful, authentic, and trustworthy, and makes everything that much more accessible.

WikiHow is a super helpful site that I love visiting. The content is always well written, comprehensive, and I've noticed it is quite often reviewed by experts. I love that there are often multiple suggestions for how to get something done. This is helpful if one of the suggestions doesn't work for my own personal case. I also love the question and answer section. There is always great information to be found there.

"How to Bite Your Lip Seductively" (under health)
"How to determine if you are tall"
