Your mechanic is actually really good. I was wrong about it. I left a bad review before and they wouldn't let me delete it. Now I'm leaving a good one

Everything about this is a scam. Mechanic came hours late, claimed they couldn't perform the service due to a bolt I hate (it's the same bolt on every year, make, and model), then offered to install it on the side for cash another day. Now they're trying to charge me for the service and part (which the mechanic took with them). This was a scam from the start by the mechanic and the website. Avoid at all costs, literally.

My husband set up the appointment for this morning, paid in advance to get the $50 discount. The mechanic shows up, finds that his oil tank was leaking, so he leaves & didn't come back. Contacted Customer Service and they told us that the service had been rescheduled and it would be $200 more. We were very detailed in telling them the services needed, we even had the parts & oil.

The mechanic, Brian, did a very good job looking over the vehicle and providing his knowledge about trucks in particular. He pointed out 2-3 things I needed to be aware of ifI decided to purchase the truck. I had hoped he would have brought whatever tool is used to connect to the vehicle's computer to get readings on things like sensors, etc. Other than that, he did great.

Scheduled an appointment no prob that is after it was rescheduled by the tech minutes before the first showing.
So he shows up takes one look at the car and says he cant work on it because i have a few cosmetic things taken off. Gives no trouble shooting advise of any kind and leaves but mentions that it will just be "like 20.00 cancellation fee" because he couldnt do anything. Instead i get a late cancellation 150.00 charge for a future credit that i will NEVER use! Customer service over the phone was awful. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this service. Go to a trusted garage instead

The work was for replacement of serpentine belt and pulley inspection. Invoice was changed AFTER discovering pulley and not having the part after inspect.Offered to purchase & go get the part at auto zone 1.9 miles away but was told he didn't have time. Original work scheduled 12/9 cancelled less than one hour prior due to "weather" causing me to miss work.
Arrived late on 12/10, laughed at my misfortune bc I didn't realize pulley was damaged and asked for inspection. Charged 165 for nothing. That is how much I spend for a week of groceries. Not even a possible discount for follow up service to repair. Manager rude and placed the blame on me as the consumer because I ordered an inspection of pulley and actually needed a replacement. I'm not a mechanic and unable to tell everything that needs to be done. This is why I CALLED A MECHANIC! Do not use these people or Corey. I will be posting this on all forums.

I booked an appointment on Thursday for Sunday (Jan 14) and Kenneth was pretty much a no call no show. I called customer service and they wanted to reschedule. However the next available time is Wednesday afternoon. I feel like they knew these mechanics and services are not available on Sundays. So don't give people the option to book on Sunday.

I thought I would try our their service as I needed a new starter for my car (a fifteen year old Toyota with the original starter). It's a very convenient service, but buyer beware.

They came out with some remanufactured part and they worked fast. I was grateful as I depend on my car to get to work and I cannnot be late. They gave me 12 month or 12k mile warranty. Well guess what?

In the 10th month the car didn't start, but since it happened once, I figured I didn't turn the key fully. Well, at exactly 11 months as 12,300 miles, the starter failed again. Talk about frustrating. 300 miles over their warranty and because I gave them the benefit of the doubt a month earlier by thinking it was my mistake versus their defective part, I get to get someone else to work on my car and pay them another fee.

Such a scam. DO NOT USE these people. They will rip you off and won't even bother to email you back when you reach out to them. Stay far away. If you need a mobile mechanics, try Repair Smith. They are backed by Auto Nation and won't hide from you when you encounter a problem.

Shame on Your Mechanic.

These people are a scam.

DO NOT HIRE! This company is a scam! At 11:00 a.m. I scheduled a replacement of a power steering pump. I was told to get service right away I had to have my own part. I drove across town to get a power steering pump so I could have it ready for a 2:00 p.m. appointment on the same day. The charge for this labor was $212, paid in advance. The Technician (Rich) shows up for this job announcing that his service ticket says to change an alternator. I had to correct Rich, stating that he was scheduled to replace the ower steerIng pump. He told me again that his service ticket said "alternator" and I then asked him why I was instructed to also purchase one quart of power steering fluid if I didn't schedule for a power steering pump replacement. An alternator doesn't take power steering fluid. The technician (Rich) spent no more than 10 minutes at my residence. He looked under the hood of the car and told me that a power steering hose needed replaced and that my power steering pump looked "okay". I told him to go ahead and replace the power steering pump, as scheduled, and also replace the power steering hose, and I would pay any difference in labor. Rich told me he doesn't have the hose on hand. I told Rich to start working on the power steering pump and I would drive 5 minutes from my house to see if Auto Zone had this hose. Technician (Rich) refused to install the power steering pump, telling me to take it back and that I should thank him for saving me money. I told Rich that he didn't save me any money at all, because I already paid $225 for this service call to replace the power steering pump, I have the part in my hand, and now he refuses to do the work. I insisted that he go ahead and replace the power steering pump so I get some use out of my $225 and then asked him why I can't go get a hose when he is already at my residence working on my car. The technician (Rich) absolutely REFUSED to replace the power steering pump, telling me that he would send me a separate quote for a hose replacement, and I would get a $50 credit towards that service. At this point, I am completely irate having to deal with this incompetency. I told the Technician (Rich) to stay put, and that I was going to get my phone inside my house so I can call scheduling. When I came back out front with my phone, at which time I had reached scheduling agent, the Technician (Rich) was gone! Within two minutes, he literally closed up his vehicle and fled away. He did not try to call me before he left, call me after he left, and did not say a single word to my family who was in the front yard and witnessed this whole thing. About 5 minutes after Rich left, I get an estimate for $422 to replace the power steering hose. This company stole $225 of my money for a power steering pump they didn't replace and now wants another $422 to replace a hose. I called and requested a refund of my $225 and my request was refused. Reason for refusal: that I didn't call for a power steering hose replacement. When I said that I still wanted my power steering pump replaced for the money I paid and that I would get the hose replaced with a different service provider, he laughed and said "we can't do that ma'am because that is not what is wrong with your car". I told the scheduling agent that I did not call for diagnostics, that I called for a specific part replacement, and I want that job completed (as paid for in advance). The scheduling technician said "no, we can't do that". I then insisted on a refund and was told "no, we can't do that either" and then the scheduling agent hung up on me. This entire company is a fraud. They will lie to you, laugh at you, and steal your money. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company to resolve this issue. Do not give your credit card information over to hire this company!

The absolute worst. Scamming, dishonest, crooked con artist. So-called mechanics (Collins T, Stacy P, Walderious, Christopher) all of Atlanta are constantly cancelling on you and are doing poor, sloppy incomplete, work and or are no-shows for appointments. They get with the "temporary" auto repair, meaning they get your car up and running or whatever the case may be, for the time being and then a week later, your car breaks down and you've discovered they've done a poor or in my case incomplete job, failing to reinstall major parts off and causing the car to dysfunction. Called in to their customer service to get them change the correct repair order, I had mistakenly booked services for the wrong service and could not change it on my end. So, hence I called at spoke to a rep/con artist/liar, who after placing me hold several times for long periods of time has the audacity to quote me a price that was double than what their own site quoted me for the repair work. Are you serious? He quotes me this price when I'm sitting right there on the site and the quote on the site never changes from its original quote. The nerve of this guy to try and take me for a fool (I guess because I am a woman) and be so deceptive and dishonest. This in addition to their incompetent, unprofessional mechanics constantly cancelling and being no-shows for appointments. My advice is to take heed to the "honest" 1-star reviews and save yourself the hell of dealing with these crooked cons.

It has been 5 or 6 years since I used YourMechanic. I used them 3 times maybe 4, and except for one time I have been pleased with the service and the cost. Today I went to the website to get an estimate for a power steering pump replacement and a serpentine belt replacement. The cost of labor has doubled, and when I opted to supply my own parts the cost of labor increased more. In the past the cost of labor was the same whether or not they supplied the parts. Also the estimate for the serpentine belt included the 2 belts for some unknown reason. I guess it is a way to charge over $100 dollars for one belt.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Mechanic came to my home and refused to drive my car saying he knew exactly what the issue was without even looking at my brakes. Claimed I did not have pads. I got them replaced by Nu Brake 3 times. They are charging me $150 anyway. Customer service is very unprofessional--Manuel (#7767). I am contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Secretary of State of Georgia. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I can't say that enough!

This company should take the time and close the doors. After rescheduling twice with no communication that the mechanics were not showing up or going to be late, they try to reschedule for a 3rd time before I told them no thanks I'd rather push my car to the nearest cliff and push it off rather then keep working with a scamming company. Because that is what this company is, nothing much scammers, if you like working with people who take your money and promise to provide you with a service and never do, "your mechanic" is the place you are looking for. Takes your money and lies so they can keep your money, till you threaten them with a lawsuit. In my opinion, walking is better than dealing with these people.

If I could give this site/place 0 stars, I would! They are an absolute sham...Horrible service! Took my money without doing any of what they said they would do before the appointment. Then, they refused to give me my money back and, when I tried to submit a charge dispute to my CC company, they fought my dispute and won! They should be ashamed of themselves! Don't pay them a dime! Don't make an appointment! Find someone else! PLEASE! Don't do it!

YourMechanic knowingly gave us a faulty part and placed it in our vehicle. The process to get our money back or any complimentary fixes has been impossible since they immediately operate on a lack of trust. The customer is guilty first - even if you're right. Do NOT go here, it's absolute garbage.

I arranged services with this company through Afterpay, The first appointment set for 4 days out. I appointment was set for Monday, so I called on Monday to confirm rates and to make sure they had my order correct for Brakes and Rotors. The customer service lady said yes. Then Sunday the day before the appointment I received a text that the price increased. I texted back asking what was the new rate. I was advised that it was going to be $250. I called customer services they quoted me $350. After going back and forth they settled with the amount that was told over the text. We rescheduled the amount. The day of the appointment they come out and I was told they could not do it because it was an apartment which should have been advised from the beginning. They canceled and charged me $150 for canceling the appointment. They are out of the DP and horrible. I would not suggest this service to anyone. AT ALL.

My stepson had his starter replaced that went bad. Your Mechanic make the warranty replacement so difficult and time consuming, i. E., take days to get back to you, lots of back-and-forth, only communicate via email, send you somewhere else to have the car looked at, and after ALL that do not accept their evaluation and will not honor the warranty. Three weeks later we had to take the car to Brakes Plus to put in a new starter. I would NEVER recommend anyone use this company!

I think the management needs to be observed to see we're there work areas are in the Company. I really would consider Blogger this Company.

"I was a bit suspicious about yourmechanic offers at first, but I don't think i would want anyone else to serve my car after Jose. He is a PRO with so many years of experience and a "Senior+" level car knowledge. Jose changed my pads and rotors and, i saved almost 40% compared to an auto shop quote. After his service car runs better than before. Thank you and i hope to book him again next time!"

Don't use this company. They will ruin your car and then not fix it. Headache. They have to take wheels off to fix things because they don't have a lift and then they don't put them on right. Mine came off on the freeway. They are NOT helping me fix it either. I have had my insurance talk to them. They still call and badger in the process of reporting faulty service. Worst service I've ever come in contact with. I could have lost my family that day on the freeway. Horrible service, mechanic didn't know what he was doing.

If there was an option for no stars, I would give it that rating. I booked a basic oil change an replacement of fitters for my BMW X3, and right away was charged. The appointment was to be four days later. The morning of my appointment, I got a text that the mechanic was unavailable, and I needed to pick another time, from available options, which I did. I then received another text asking me to pick another time, and got another text to reschedule.

When I contacted customer service, I was told it was a part issue... unavailable filter. I asked to speak to a supervisor, as that seemed to be a basic part. I was told I'd get a return call. When I did, I was told it was not their fault. That parts take time to get there. That they don't attempt to get the parts until the appointments are booked. I asked why they don't have oil filters available for the vehicles that they claim to service. She gave me the excuse that it's customary to have delays, and was exceptionally rude.

In addition, they charged me for the appointment at the time of booking. The supervisor said it was because I used their Apple Pay option. That since I was being rude, which I was not, they were cancelling the appointment, and I " would eventually get the money back to [my] account. "

Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend them.

Sitejabber for Business

Gain trust and grow your business with customer reviews.

From the business

YourMechanic is the car mechanic company that comes to you – at work or home. Our technology platform offers an economical, transparent, and convenient solution to car repair and maintenance needs.

With our website and app, consumers get estimates on repairs, book appointments with mechanics, read customer reviews, troubleshoot car issues, and track the health and service history of their car. For mechanics, we’ve built a state-of-the-art app that fully equips technicians to perform mobile car services. Mechanics can generate quotes, book appointments, source parts, set their availability, correspond with customers, and much more. Our technology allows mechanics to focus on what they love to do: work on cars.

Business History

YourMechanic was founded in 2011 with the goal to make car repair and maintenance affordable, convenient, and transparent. We started YourMechanic because we believed that the auto repair industry was broken.

Keeping a car healthy and well maintained is often a time-consuming and frustrating experience, and it’s often expensive. Car owners often lack visibility into the expertise of their mechanic and the fairness of the price charged. Mechanics work hard fixing cars, yet they make very little money at repair shops (less than 20% of what consumers pay). Technicians working on the YourMechanic platform earn 2 to 3 times more than the standard market rate.
