I was thrilled at first to see that this site had a praying mantis kit. I was going to purchase it for my nephew who loves bugs. Thankfully I found out in time that the kit is just the net house for the insects. You have to send off for the eggs. You also have to keep the eggs at a certain temperature or they won't hatch. When they hatch you have to separate the insects or they'll eat each other. The review I found said that most of the eggs don't even hatch. I have purchased other items from Edmund Scientific and that shopping experience went well. I bought a solar stick up lights, a pocket-sized fire starter, and a wooden catapult kit. These items were delivered in a timely manner.

Free homeschool online organizer. I have used this site to stay organized for two years. It's absolutely free! It's helped me so much in my lesson planning, making sure I have state required hours covered for the year, keeping track of all my supplies, etc. This site has been a life saver. If you homeschool, do yourself a favor and check out homeschoolskedtrack.com.
'Homeschool Skedtrack is a FREE online lesson planner, scheduler, and tracking system rolled into one. The heart of the system is the automated scheduling of activities that frees you from the headache of rescheduling everything once an activity/lesson is missed.'

I use this site through my public library membership. 'The power of your library, online! We give you free access to eBooks, audio books, videos, online magazines, newspapers, journals, and more.' I have incorporated many of their videos (live streaming online) into my homeschooling curriculum. Love this site! It's free!

I use this website often during the year while I'm homeschooling. The videos offered for online streaming are quite wonderful - engaging, informative, and educational.

This is the best recipe website! I adore the 'ingredients' feature where you can put a list of ingredients that you have on hand and it will show you a list of recipes that incorporate those ingredients. I can't tell you how many times this feature has helped me out as I'm struggling to think of what to make for dinner without having to go to the store. I love to read the reviews - they are so helpful with adding things or taking away things to make the recipe better. This is a go-to site for any cook.

  • FanFiction

I love this site for reading stories written by regular people on everything imaginable. I usually only read those stories that have been reviewed by readers over 1,000 times so that I don't waste my time on mediocre stories. One warning I will give you: if you don't want to be suddenly redirected to an ad site (which could have malware), click on 'help' and 'Ad Blocker' so you won't be bothered by the ads. It's a great opt out feature.

  • Amazon

I have used Amazon.com for several years with no problems. I always order from highly rated users and I always read the reviews. Many times I can order an item and can have it delivered for free. It's come in handy for homeschooling books and supplies. I trust Amazon.com when I buy online.

If you love books, have a lot of books, want more books, etc. this is the website for you. I will grab free books on offer through garage sales, freecycle, etc. and put them up on paperbackswap.com so that I can get books that I want. I have an extensive wish list on this site and whenever a book from my list becomes available, I'll get an email from the site. I'm a homeschooler and I have found this website to be invaluable.

  • Mighty Leaf

I ordered tea from mightyleaf.com as a gift for my son's teachers last Christmas and they all raved about the tea so much that I had to order for myself. The earl grey is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend mighty leaf tea. You won't be disappointed.
