If you sign virtually ANY progressive petition, then first read the fine print. By signing you are agreeing to receive more - many times per day - spam from "Daily Kos".
- If reply with "unsubscribe" then the originators of DK are simply receiving confirmation of your e-mail. The do not comply with your request.
- If you try to leave a comment on the DK website, then you have to open an account with those clowns.
- If you try to call DK on their phone number, usually no one will pick it up.
- Even if you do succeed in demanding a person at DK remove your e-mail from their social spam justice list, then they will creep back on.
- The only way to deal with them is for all petition sites to have explicit radio buttons to confirm your e-mail on their mailing lists.
This is becoming as outrageous as trump-spam or the usual spam nonsence.

Tip for consumers:
Watch out for multiple spams from this organization!

Suddenly now bogus text messages started arriving from a dating site which I had never signed up for... is Chemistry.com owned by match.com?
What crap... can't these companies be banned for fraud?

Here's the format of one such message"
"Txtme*******O27 is interested in getting to know you and has sent you an email"

Of course, there is no "unsubscribe" link and if one clicks on "change my e-mail options" there is no possibility to "unsubscribe". Anything which one undertakes to get off of their spam list requires log in.

Predictably, after Match.com purchased PoF, it has been converted it a poorly-designed cash machine. For example:
1. It is no longer possible to search profiles according to name, if you haven't forked out the membership fee.
2. So I explain at the top of my profile, that if ladies wish to contact me, then they must directly write me.
3. Over the past two days, I have received three "wants to meet you" messages... as if their authors never read my explanations and instructions.
4. Just before all of this nonsense started, a "wants to meet you" message appeared from a profile featuring an 18-year old bimbo who claimed to have a PhD.

Summarizing: if you don't want to fork out the money, then PoF has the same value as Match.com without fees (very little). Judging from what others have written here, if you pay the fees, the "buyer beware"!

I've actually corresponded with reasonable women over Craigslist (no they weren't prostitutes)
