About Me

I'm 50 years old. Early retired, due to disability. But, I'm still able to do basic repairs and upkeep on my home.

How I Can Help

I'm kind of a "jack of all trades". I hold no certs for the trades etc. However, I'm always willing to assist. Based on my knowledge of a subject. I'm also honest, in the fact that I will make it known I have "no" knowledge or "very little" in particular subjects. I never want to give advice on something I know nothing or very little about. And have somebody dismayed because I fouled up a project their on, etc. Again, seek me out for help. I will gladly pass on helpful hints & info

This is an above average general utility program. Although, it's only advisable to run one anti-virus program. It never hurts to run more than 1 utility program, whether it's for registry, spyware, malware, and junk files. What one software application will not detect, another one usually will. I'm a fan of software programs that don't run a lot of processes and apps (this usually taxes the PC's speed, etc). However, I need to inquire about Glary's spyware detector. In most cases, when doing a scan, it usually only catches 1 or none of any spyware programs. That's usually unorthodox. In my experience, I've always had one that detects quite a few. Then the others "pick up the ball" so to speak, by catching a few more. I have given it "4 Stars" due to this one fact. But, I will email Glarysoft and find out if there's a way to heighten the sensitivity of the spyware detection. Otherwise, this is a great utilities program, 1st and most importantly, because it does not use a lot of resources in it's due process. If I get any input from the company, especially if it improves or corrects the spyware detection. I will do a quick re-review, and post it with "5 Stars"

This is an excellent software program. In most cases, when my PC slows down. It's a malware, spyware, phishing problem etc. I run a "full scan" overnight and at least one "quick scan" during the day. Most always, if there's a slowdown on any of my PC's (I have three-2 desktops and one notebook). When I run Super Anti-Spyware "quick scan", it most always catches the culprit(s). When I return to whatever it is I'm doing. The PC then runs up to par. I highly recommend it.

I have used website over the years for inkjet and monochrome laser printers. As I have both for color or black & white (laser printers) to do certain tasks in my home. One item of note is, I have an Epson Stylus C82 inkjet printer. I purchased it back in 2004. And is still compatible with Windows 7, never a problem. Other than a few cleanings, no issues with it. Point of mention: Epson is usually the first brand to have "generic" brand inkjet cartridges available. Not only does LD Products still have them available. It now only costs me about 1/2 than brand name catridges. They regularly have bulk inkjet cartridge savings deals. If my memory serves me correctly, any order over $99 has free shipping as well. Not hard to attain when it comes to printer accessories. Oh, and the shipping time is pretty speedy as well.

In conjunction with my last post. I would like to give Parts Express my highest recommendation. These are folks I now use for ordering audio, video, and computer accessories. Also, I got an informative and pleasant note included with the invoice. Also, they sent a small screwdriver (I call them craftsman screwdrivers) for use on screws like you would remove on a calculator, etc. that has very small screws. I used them regularly on machines I used to set up and operate, before I retired. I used them daily on fine adjustments for optical sensors (we called them "electric eyes" when I was still working). Also, their prices are more than fair. And for the most part, even better than fair. They have bulk and clearance specials that I have made purchases of. Example: They had "10 Piece Screwdriver Bit Sets" on special or clearance (not sure). At 75 cents per set, I ordered 10 sets with my 1st order. I'm a jack of all trades. And even though I try to keep my tools in order. It never fails, I lose a screwdriver bit here and there. These sets included square and torque style bits. I have given up on Flathead and Philips Head screws almost completely. Now when doing a project I use square or torque head screws... Anyway, needless to say, I'm completely satisfied with Parts Express. And I have ordered twice so far. Results: Outstanding!

Back in April of 2012, I placed an order with them. Rather large in fact. Before I go any further, I had been dealing with them for over 5 years. And had absolutely no trouble with my orders. And usually, the items I bought, regardless of the size of order. Again, no issues... In April of '12 I placed an order for various audio/video items. And a few computer related accessories. Being, I understand that if you elect to wait for shipment till "all items" are in stock. I patiently figured on 6-8 weeks. Finally, in early July, I emailed them with a congenial inquiry into, what was the "status" of my order? Their reaction in the email reply was I had just submitted the order. And I need to wait 6-8 weeks depending on whether or not they had all items that I ordered in stock... Like I mentioned before, I already knew this. So, I sent them a 2nd reply email. This time with the original email that contained the date and the list of items ordered. The reply to that email was friendly, but asked if I wanted to continue to wait for or close the order and get a refund. Based on their incoherently stated fact they didn't seem to know much that I even placed an order. I opted to close the order, and ask for a refund. No complaint with this, the check arrived with 10 days. And that was that. But before I passed judgement or decided to shun them completely. I decided to do a web search on any info I could obtain review/complaints about them. In a nutshell, there was more negative than positive entries. And I had noticed a lot of them (negative) were just in the last year or two. At that point, I decided to look for another vendor. And I found one that was actually more user friendly on their website. There was also good communication, if there was problem. Which was rare, and non irritating... My reason for the "2 Star" rating, was to give them the benefit of the doubt on a few things. Even though they were disarrayed about my order. There was no battle about closing the order and getting my money refunded. Also, I left the rating that the fact, they were at one time "Johnny on the Spot", as they saying goes. It's sad they have deteriorated in their business operations. I like to be detailed in explanations, especially when reviewing negatively, as well as newly informed on current overall reviews. Thanks for Reading... Greg... from West Lawn, PA
