I have going on month #2 of my saga with Scentmatchers. At first I thought this was the answer to my discontinued fragrance prayers but it is actually a nightmare. Had I done my research I would have never chosen this company! After waiting several weeks for my order to ship and finally getting a tracking number; I was elated to soon expect my order but this elation was short lived. I checked the tracking number daily only to see that my package has never left Pontiac, MI. I sent several emails and after 2 weeks inquired about a refund only to be told that I can only receive a refund after I send the package back to scentmatchers. Humm. That would be difficult if I never receive it!?!? I was sent another email saying that they have contacted USPS and my package will be delivered but ground shipping takes 2-3 weeks.
So before I go postal and file fraud complaints with my bank, visa, BBB and the FTC; I decided to open an investigation with the USPS first. The conversation with them was nothing short of eye opening. Not only was I made aware that no other inquiries were made regarding my tracking number (essentially making them liars) but the whole premise for ground shipping is unbelievably false. In fact the woman said, "what is so combustible in 3.4 oz that they can't ship air? I just ordered Marc Jacobs perfume from Amazon and it was delivered to my house from across the country in 2 days!" It actually made me think well. Your right, all the fragrance companies ship fast, wth!
Since I am not ever going to receive my order or a refund, as I have tried to contact customer support over and over again with no resolution; I will let every avenue of consumer protection assist me in ensuring that this doesn't happen to someone else!
