Codeacademy is pretty great for getting a handle on the basics of coding, however I feel as if the courses there leave you a little confused on how to actually put things into practice.

The biggest issue I have with this site is it uses a virtual coding space but doesn't show you how to do these things on your own.

Overall I rate it as okay since it does allow you to get a basic knowledge of a few different coding languages for free and quickly.

  • Weather.com

Weather.com has very reliable weather coverage here in Ohio.

The interface is a little clunky and occasionally has glitches that make certain pages not load. I have also noticed the site down a couple times that I want to check in the last couple months.

The paid advertising is awful on this site so be careful when you are clicking around you might click on some paid content that looks like a weather.com article.

Overall If used solely for weather updates the website does its function well.

Tip for consumers:
pay special attention not to click advertisements.

  • Amazon

Amazon Is arguably the best eCommerce website out there. You can buy just about anything and the suppliers have been far more reliable than that of other site I have shopped from.

If you pay a little extra or live in a metropolitan area you can even gain access to other features some of which include: music streaming, video streaming, same day delivery, 2 hour delivery, no shipping costs, etc.

Tip for consumers:
Amazon Prime is VERY worth it.

  • LiveJournal

I joined LJ sometime back in the mid 2000's and I had not visited the site since 2008ish? I rediscovered LJ this year and have since started posting there again mostly as a personal journal.

The community that used to be there is practically non-existent now, except for a lot of russians. Overall its a "Meh" experience I am just there for the nostalgia at this point.

I used to like SodaHead a lot. It was an interesting and different take on social networking being able to make and vote on various polls and even occasionally discuss them was an awesome premise.

Well, now SodaHead is nothing more than a corporate polling software, where they have locked all the previous accounts on the site so they are there but the users can not access them. I returned to SodaHead earlier this year and was pretty miffed about the changes and the fact that I cannot even delete my old account.
