Robert Walters once said "workers lose marketability if they stay at the same firm for too long". What a load of absolute nonsense.

It's difficult enough the best of times to find a new job, regardless of how long - or indeed short - you've been working for your current employer.

Let's say I'm working as a recruitment consultant and I have the following two CV's:

PERSON 1

Company A - 6 Years
Company B - 20 Years+

PERSON 2

Company A - 1 Year
Company B - 2 Years
Company C - 7 Months
Company D - 1 Year
Company E - 4 Months
Etc...

Does Person 2 seriously have the stronger work history? Maybe it's all down to personal experience or personal opinion but for me, Person 1 has by far the better work history. They've stayed at a company and progressed over a number of years. All Person 2 has done is jump from job to job to job, most likely to earn more money, but it also suggests they're not willing to grow and develop. If a company is looking for somebody who isn't going to do a disappearing act within the next 12 months, then Person 2 is NOT the suitable candidate.

So Robert Walters can say whatever he wants. It doesn't necessarily mean he's correct. Ultimately, recruitment consultants who work at Robert Walters wouldn't know an excellent CV if it slapped them across the face.

Is buzzjack a good website? Yes. Could it be better? Absolutely. The main issue i have is with the senior moderators who are on a power trip, they are quick to have a go at oridinary members for small things like repeating what others have posted they the moderator does it themselves and it seems fine. One rule for one and one for another. There is a fair bit of spam in the forums which tarnishes my enjoyment of the forums. The longue area is really dumbed down but i guess its light relief. The chart section is vey good and the archive section is an excellent resource. I still dont see the appeal of artist forums and would be happier to discuss them in the genre forums that are easier to find from the main menu. Overall a good website, just need to freshen up the senior mod team and get rid of the spam content. Then it will be a 4/5 for me because nothing is ever perfect. Haha
