This morning I received an email, supposedly from Amazon, stating that my Prime Account payment was due. The sender's address looked suspicous and I called Amazon customer service to verify that this was actually from them. My guess is that it was an attempt to get into my account through an outside source. The rep I talked to WAS NOT INTERESTED in my concerns. All she wanted was to verify my account. I explained in no uncertain terms that this had nothing to do with my account, but everything to do with an attempt to defraud THEIR customers and possibly steal their identities. She would not connect me to their fraud department nor provide a link to send them a report concerning what I found. You would think that a company as large as Amazon would be extremely interested in protecting their customers-APPARENTLY NOT. You're on your own, just be careful what email you open.

Tip for consumers:
Customer service reps have a hard time thinking for themselves and apparently follow some company approved protocol or script.

We've done business with this company for many years, but something has changed and it's not for the better. I order $575 in gift cards for my wife to complete our family photo project of transfering about 1700 pictures to a digital format. Of this number we needed around 18 photos to be restored. They sent a quote and a bill. When I referenced the credit I was told it could not be used. There was nothing in their gift card page that said anything about restrictions or limitations but according to them this was another process entirely. When I looked at their restoration ad it's all under the Scan Cafe logo. At best this is just another pocket in the same pair of pants. I filed a complaint with their local BBB asking for a complete refund of the $575. It was then I discovered that they had an "F" rating. Needless to say, they did not respond and the case was closed. My next option is to file in small claims and they can and will respond to that. Whatever has happened to this company is defintely not good and not one you want to deal with. There are more reputable firms out there and I would suggest you go to them.

Tip for consumers:
Go someplace else. This company appears to have gone downhill and is not worth the headaches

WTF! We've been with WF for more years than I can remember. We stuck with them through the thick and thin of lawsuits, had our home mortgage with them as well as our daily accounts of savings, checking and credit cards. It's probably time to find another bank. In the last 2 months they've cancelled both of our debit cards without authorization or prior notice. It's a royal pain in the $#*! to have to log into all of our auto-pay accounts to establish the new cards and just yesterday they blocked an $80.00 purchase online. Never mind that we routinely pay bills or make purchases of $500 to $1,000 that sail on through, but an $80.00 purchase was blocked and a temporary hold was placed on my card. I suspect the same is true with my wife's card, since I tried to complete the purchase with hers and it was denied. I have to call customer service when my wife is back home to get her authorization to check the status regarding her card. I'm getting sick and tired of having to deal with this bank, their customer service (if you want to call it that) and their idiot ways of trying to protect my account FROM ME. Beware and be looking for a new bank-we are.

The above referenced company is a division of Prime Time Trends and one of the products they sell is the Quick Pro Charger-nothing but a high priced scam. The only thing it can do, if it works at all, is to provide a rapid charge to your cell phone. However, many reviewers have written to attest to the fact that their standard charger is faster than this POC. I had ordered 2 of these items before I realized that I had been taken. Just me being stupid on the computer. Within minutes I sent an e-mail to their support address to cancel the order and received a notice that this was a "no reply" address. I called the 800 help line and left a number that put me in the queue for a return call. I'm still waiting for that to happen and now they are closed. I'll try again tomorrow and see if I get the same no-response. I had hoped to cancel my order before charges hit my account but it doesn't look like that's going to happen since they are already pending. Now the only option is to challenge the debit from my account through the bank. They have a money back guarantee but, according to the reviews of others, their not big on that either. Overall, this is a scam product from a scam company and one you don't need to deal with

  • eBay

5/3/23

After a recent bad experience with Ebay I decided to do a little research on what was once a great marketplace. First, Ebay only holds 3.5% of all ecommerce trade and it has been losing its share of the market. However revenue has been going up. How's this possible? By increasing it's rates and holding seller's monies for a few days before disbursement. You would absolutely amazed at how much interest can be made on several millions even if it's only a few days. The amount of money invested remains the same even though the "lenders/sellers" change. Ebay also has a problem if money has to be returned. That means they lose as well. I know of a power seller, 100% feedback on over 5,000 transactions, that had 9 returns in one year, however Ebay restricted listings and sales for an indeterminate amount of time. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. There are competitive, ethical markets out there other than Ebay. This is not new, but Ebay STRONGLY favors the buyer rather than much, if any, consideration for the seller. This was my experience and for what it's worth, I've closed all of my listings and will not post on this site ever again. Good luck if you're still listing with Ebay.

Had Dish Network for the mandatory two years under a new $69.00 contract. At the end, we realized that we were paying for more channels than what we needed or watched. Drop down to a new plan for about $50.00 a month. Not happy with the service we were getting and canceled altogether. Now Dish has placed us in collections for $260 claiming we owed this amount for cancelling within the 2 years of our new service. This particular obligation was never presented to us at the time of the reduced service and, try as I might, I can't find anything online that supports this, only the mandatory 2 years for new accounts. To make matters worse, we were sent notices to reinstate our service with a follow up letter stating that what we had was no longer available and that all they could offer was a plan that was about $30.00 a month more. They still had their $69.00 plan for new and EXISTING customers, but after 2 calls to service reps, they refused to put us on it. Dish is not in the habit of working with customers. They would rather turn you into collections and screw with your credit rating. They've already been warned that if they continue this approach I have little choice but to pursue them in small claims and they can send someone to Fresno to provide a defense. It's not advisable to f++k with an old retired guy with too much time on his hands. Cause of action, fraud, false advertising and frivolous threats.

Stay away from Dish altogether

In February of 2022 we made reservations for a stay at the Ramada by Wyndham in Anchorage, Alaska beginning 6-22-2022. These were for a handicapped accessible room, paid for up front and confirmed. When we arrived not only had all of the handicapped rooms been sold but our assigned room was not available until 11:30 that night. This is an older motel, built in the 1960's and remodeled in the 70's. Elevators and hallways are small and narrow. I travel in a mobility scooter and, as such, maneuvering was ridiculous. We were put in a standard room on the second floor. I called the front desk immediately and was promised a room on the first floor the next morning. That never happened. ADA rules clearly state that if a reserved handicap accessible room was not available the motel shall move you to another property where there is one, at their cost. Further, that once a reservation is confirmed, the reserved room is to be moved out of inventory. Apparently Wyndham did not get that memo. When I asked about a move I was told it was too late. At 11:30 p.m. it probably was. This corporation seems to take a certain amount of pride in it's lack of service, sloppy and unclean rooms as well as its employees lack of consideration. When I checked reviews I expected a low rating, but not this low. Out of over 1,000 reviews, Wyndham had a star rating of 1 out of 5. I'm sure it would be less but you have to give at least one star to post the review in the first place. I won't begin to tell you about the physical condition of the room. It seems that it is a common problem over most of the reviews no matter where you stay. When I complained to corporate I was referred to the general manager at the motel. Basically, he had no authority whatsoever. Corporate will pass the buck whenever it's expedient. We paid almost $1400 for our stay. The cost to have moved us to another motel in the area would have been about the same. Wyndham will be getting an invitation to small claims in Fresno in the near future. Would you really want to stay at any of the Wyndham properties with these problems?

Tip for consumers:
Look elsewhere for a motel. There are much better.

I'm writing this review based on student interviews and facts from published data. Students, themselves, are afraid to publish any criticisms. If identified, the school, located in Boynton Beach, Florida, will drop them from their program immediately. This school is owned and operated by Karyn Vidal. She has an MBA from St. Thomas University. She is a business woman and this school is her business. To my knowledge she has no training whatsoever in the the medical field. Teachers at this school do not have to be credentialed and she goes through hundreds of them each year. Last report shows 300 staff at an average salary of $15,000 each per year. That is a lot of part time people. If you live out of state you will need to come to this school on your own dime. Plan on spending anywhere from $2500 to $3000 per trip for flights, lodging, transportation, food, etc. The "campus" for this school is actually a small office on S. Congress Ave in Boynton, Beach. Based on recent final test results where 90% of the class FAILED because the test material had not been taught or presented, students are not properly prepared. Remember, this is a business for Karyn Vidal. Students will pay $30,000 through a loan arrangement with a thiird party lender and Ms. Vidal gets her money up front. What incentive does she have to see that the students are given a fair shake at an education? She already has their money. The second final had a few more passing, but still a large number of failures for the same reason. As the finals progress, the tests get harder and the required passing grade goes up. If you need to take a third final plan on spending $3500 out of your pocket to this school, above and beyond your tuition. If you fail the third exam, you are not only out of this school and its failing program but out of all other schools in this state as well. Recently, some of the staff have been talking about accreditation problems this school is having, meaning there is a possibility that they will no longer be able to offer this lackluster program. One can only hope. However, for the time being, is this the kind of school that you would want to go to?

Tip for consumers:
This is a school in name only. Avoid it.

The wife needs hearing aids. A recent audio test confirmed this. After looking online for product providers we decided to go with the Lively line of products. We were asked to provide a copy of the audio report, which we did. We received a notice that we were eligible for a $140 credit but it must be used within 48 hours. Also got an email from a Rachael who claimed to be one of the hearing specialists with the Lively company. We had questions about the different products and fitment of the aids that were not answered. Flash forward 48 hours-the coupon expired. Apparently this company expects you to make a purchase WITHOUT the benefit of any answers essential to the product. If this is their business plan and method of operation-it sucks. We're through wasting time with a company that operates on this basis and have decided to look elsewhere for product. At this point, I would advise anyone looking for hearing aids NOT to bother with this company.

Tip for consumers:
If by "this site" you mean Lively, my tip is DON'T

  • Priceline

7/17/22

Recently booked a stay through Priceline and had the worst experience ever. I'm handicapped and do not do well with stairs. Since the motel I chose to book with has a second floor and no elevator, I looked at the Priceline venue to see if there was an option to make a request for a downstairs room. There wasn't. In an email to Priceline with my request, I received a response that stated that they could not do this but to go through their "sister" company, Booking.com. Not sure how these two are related, but I did make my reservation through Booking. All of this happened within the same hour. I went back to Priceline to cancel my reservation through them and the system would not allow me to do so. I sent a second email advising that I had gone through Booking, their system was not working and asked that they cancel my initial reservation. 48 hours later I get a response that I may have to pay for both rooms and, when I got to my motel, sure enough there were 2 reservations for me. Fortunately the desk clerk was kind enough to cancel one of them and I had a downstairs room, not through Priceline, but Booking.com. Priceline-why bother? They don't have the ability to cancel reservations much less take requests and seem to take their sweet time about getting back to you. Booking.com is my new go to.

I hadn't ordered from KingSize in years. Placed my first order for 3 pair of pants based upon their size chart. When they finally arrived they were way too big, the chart was wrong. Made several inquiries to have them returned for the correct size. King Size kept sending me bogus return shipping info. When they finally got it right I received an email that it was too late to return them. Then I received a catalog for winter clearance items that would be delivered in May? Who needs winter clothes in May? Finally, I ordered 6 T-shirts but only one was delivered. When I asked where the other 5 were, I was told they were back-ordered, but my account would not be charged until they were shipped. I ordered these selections from what was supposed to be in stock. Apparently, King Size has a nasty habit of taking orders for product they do not have. There are other big and tall companies out there to choose from and I would strongly suggest that you shop with them BEFORE even considering King Size. As for the "too large" pants, they were donated and I was out $100. Beware, Beware, BEWARE.

This is Keto Strong, the product that was supposed to have been presented on Shark Tank. However, subsequent research found that this claim was not true. I went to their website to order some of the product. In fact, I ordered 3 bottles. An offer was made to purchase their Keto Detox, which I declined. They took my credit card information and, instead of presenting a copy of my order for review, they immediately charged my account and the first time I saw what was coming was when I got the receipts. I had ordered 3 bottles, but was charged for 5. I was billed for 2 bottles of the Detox product that I had declined. There was no way to contact them to cancel the order. Customer service, coming from a foreign call center based upon his heavy accent, had no authority to cancel. Their only advice was to return the product under the money back guarantee but could not tell me how much it would cost to return it, whether there was a restocking fee or how much of my original purchase price I would eventually receive. In other words, they were useless. The only option I was left with was to call my bank and dispute the charges. I'm not sure how far that will go but the moral of the story is to do business with this company at your own risk. They are all about taking your money, through fraud if necessary, and very reticent about returning any of it.

Tip for consumers:
Be VERY careful about dealing with this company

This site and this company sucks, big time. Ordered the same pair of shoes 3 times. The first 2 times my account was credited back the purchase price WITHOUT EXPLANATION. The third time it seems to be going through, however, only time will tell. Their customer service phone line has been terminated and the recorded message asks that you send an e-mail. Did that twice, no response to either. Not a good business model and I doubt that I will use this company again. Life's too short to have to deal with a low rated company and the frustrations they create.

This company uses Amazon as one of its websites for the sale of its products. On July 10th I ordered items that were supposedly "in stock". Product was shipped, as per their tracking info on the 16th. It's 3 weeks later and my purchases are still not here. It doesn't take 3 weeks to get from Katy, Texas to Fresno, California. Apparently they were able to defraud the tracking process as well. I received notice that the items were "out for delivery", which means that they should have been here that day. Today (7-31-2021) I received notice that my order would not be here until some time next week. How does a delivery that is supposedly out be delayed an additional week. I used my credit card and money was taken from my account when the items were shipped. I still don't know if they were actually shipped. My advice, stay away from this company. As it is, I'm going to have to do battle to get a refund and probably get some "BS" story about covid, shipping or a lost order which still doesn't explain how they were able to manipulate the tracking process in the first place.

Tip for consumers:
Stay away from this company. In my opinion it's a scam

This site would not exist without buyers. I am a buyer, here, on Ebay, Amazon. I have over 3500 positive reviews on Ebay as a buyer, but this site is the worse ever. You take your chances whenever you order out of your area and pay online. If the item arrives broken, damaged or doesn't arrive at all, don't count on getting your money back. This venue favors scammers and it is rife with these types of "sellers". The item I ordered arrived broken. It's been one week and over a dozen e-mails trying to get a refund. Even though the company knew there was a problem with the shipping, they still released my money to the seller and I'm having to go through hoops and hurdles trying to get a refund. My best advice-stay far away from this site.
