It's not as good as Topix was. Patch is much less American and more in line with China or even North Korea in a few sectors. Certain moderators love deleting news articles and issuing bans on posters that want a safe, happy community like it's illegal to even leave your residence except for business.

On a more positive note, unlike Topix, you can edit your own articles. And if one of your articles becomes a hotbed of hate speech and defamation, you can simply copy the content of your article, and then delete and repost your article.

It gets frusterating when reviews are rejected, but that travel forum they have not only is stationed in North Korea, but it's owned by the same administrator that owns the city-data forum; Kim Jong-Chul. And like city-data, there is no freedom of speech and no respect for the First Amendment of the United States Constitution on the Tripadvisor travel forum. And the reason is simple; North Korea is a totalitarian dictatorship. There is no freedom of speech in North Korea. Saying that the Kim Dynasty did something wrong gets people publicly executed in North Korea. Reviews are checked by a moderator before they are posted, and even true reviews get rejected, giving another feeling like the entire Tripadvisor site may in fact be stationed in Pyongyang. And like on city-data, if they don't like your forum posts or your reviews, they permanently disable your Tripadvisor account. They also enforce a zero tolerance policy for shared IP addresses on the forum, especially school and library IPs, and they never, ever allow anyone to post from a school or library IP; that will get your account immediately and permanently disabled, including if you log in on a school, college, or library computer.

  • Topix

Topix was, without a doubt, the best site to surf. The Topix forums were the best forums the Internet could have had. It was the place for thorough reviews of a place, posting what kinds of rules a bar, club, or nightlife facility had, what was allowed or not allowed at a particular place, what kind of dress code a place had, the fact that Northern Illinois is no place for guys to even approach within 30 feet or less of any woman, and that any man that approaches within 30 feet or less of any woman in Northern Illinois is in critical danger of being arrested and going to prison, and the fact that, in Northern Illinois, all communications, especially with strangers, are exclusively business-related only, all in the safety of being anonymous so you don't get persecuted.

Facebook exposes your full identity, exposing you to full persecution. The city-data forum operates from Pyongyang, North Korea, is owned and managed by Kim Jong-Chul, and adheres very strongly to the Juche and Kim Dynasty philosophies. All other forums including city-data and even Patch require a valid email where they send you a key to activate your account, otherwise you can not post anything.

The Topix forums shut down because America has become a sock puppet of North Korea and a nationwide boot camp, a nationwide version of MCRD, where every single person is expected to stay completely out of everyone else's life, be a stranger, stay a stranger, live in complete isolation and division, mind their own business, and stick to their 24 hour hamster wheel schedule all 365 days a year. Get up, have breakfast, go to work, go home, cook dinner, clean, and go to bed. All governed and timed solely and strictly by the rotation of the Earth. To those that shut down the Topix forums, interacting with any other person in a non-business manner, wearing anything other than a heavy gray and black business suit, tie, long black or gray pants, even when it's 110 degrees outside, or even leaving the house except for work, all constitute a capital felony under Federal law.

The city-data forum censors everyone because it operates from North Korea. Pyongyang, to be exact. Kim Jong-Un's brother (Kim Jong-Chul) is the city-data forum administrator. The extreme vast majority of the city-data forum moderators live in Pyongyang. And as the city-data forum adheres strongly to the laws of their country (North Korea), there is no freedom of speech. I even came across a recent post in which the quoted replies of the administrator and the senior moderator Yac literally showed their colors.

And it's no wonder because North Korea is a totalitarian dictatorship. Anyone who visits there quickly lears that North Korea is more prison than country, and they treat you like you're in a prison. No wonder the city-data forum mods act like nazis. They are heavily loyal to North Korea's dictators.
