We have been Spectrum, DirecTV, Verizon, and previous Frontier customers since moving to Southern California. In fact, we swore we would never use Frontier again after having had bad experiences with them back in in 2013-2017. But, we have been quite dissatisfied with our Spectrum home service and decided to make the switch after a door-to-door agent, Azeem, approached us. We NEVER allow door-to-door salesmen to even start their spiel, but Azeem was really good and reassuring and offered us an unbelievable deal for lifetime service. It all sounded too good to be true, but we learned it was. Brian arrived right on time to do the installation. He was pleasant, friendly, and very knowledgeable and completed the installation within an hour or so. We have so far (it's been less than a week) been quite pleased with the super-fast speeds and lack of blips in our service over Spectrum. Time will tell if this continues, obviously. But, so far, we couldn't be more pleased. We use streaming services and my husband works from home and teaches via internet, so all these things are extremely important. Plus, the coverage within our home, which was sketchy with Spectrum, has been outstanding.

  • Uber Eats

Tonight we ordered two hours ahead on Uber Eats. Ordering was simple and our Uber Eats driver was even early to the restaurant to pick up the food. The amount was $144 including tip. The distance from the restaurant to our address was approximately one half hour. We followed her delivery progress on the app. When she was approximately 10 minutes away, the order was suddenly cancelled—no explanation. At that moment, all driver information, including contact information, was cancelled. We were astonished. Immediately, my husband called the restaurant to ensure our order was picked up-it was. Then, we called customer service for Uber Eats and got someone who was extremely apologetic, but said that there was no way for her to contact the driver to find out why the order was cancelled 10 minutes out. It was inane. They did credit back our payment and tip, to their credit. But we were left without a meal for our family of 6! Oh, and my husband got a text a bit later saying it was cancelled because of the restaurant—clearly a lie. We will not be placing delivery orders in the future with Uber Eats.

Speak is a company with two lines of products: Speax underwear for women's monthly menstrual cycles and Thinx by Speax, their line of underwear for urinary leakage/incontinence. I can only "speak" to the incontinence line. I've suffered from stress incontinence for years. My best bet was wearing bulky pads that chafed or wouldn't stay put. They were uncomfortable. Then, my urologist recommended Thinx by Speax. I was a bit skeptical and they were pricey compared to the inexpensive underwear I used to purchase (although, they're more in line with brands like Tommy John, price-wise). I decided to buy a few pairs to test them out. The crotch of the panty contains a special, absorbent fabric that wicks leaks away from the skin, leaving the panty (and you) dry through leaks. I believe their panties can hold about 8 tsp (nearly 3 Tbsp) of urine. There is absolutely no odor and I wash mine in the machine with the rest of my clothes. Now, I've stocked up (they have frequent sales) and they're the only underwear I'll buy or use. I haven't had to resort to buying panty liners or pads in over 2 years—and that's made up many times over for the price differential in underwear.

I also love their mission to help impoverished girls/women who can't afford menstrual products with their Speax line. Great Company and I haven't needed to replace any of the underwear I've bought: they are very well-made and come in a variety of colors, patterns, and styles. Their fit guide is really helpful in determining proper sizing and it was right on for me.

Tip for consumers:
They have sales events. If you are trying to build your wardrobe of underwear, you can start with a few, see if you like them, and be sure to sign up for their mailings which tell you about current and upcoming sales.

I initially discovered Thermoworks on a cooking website where their instant thermometer, the Thermapen One was reviewed. I decided to treat myself to one and was so impressed that I bought a second one for my daughter to use. Then, I decided to order another product, their ChefAlarm, a leave-in thermometer/timer. I bought it in February, but never tried to use it until May. When I removed it from the packaging and tried to turn it on, it wouldn't. I was so disappointed. The next morning, I sent an email to Customer Service. The gentleman and I exchanged about 3 emails and he told me just to toss the thermometer and he'd send me a new one. Sure enough, about three days later, I received the new, working thermometer in the mail. Each thermometer is carefully calibrated for accuracy to within a fractional degree. I am a forever customer now. Brilliant products and excellent customer service! Thank you!

I've been shopping at Blick, both in-store and online, for about 4 years now. Their service is fantastic, their product lines are great, they maintain their stock, and they have just about anything that any level artist might need. What more could you ask for?!

Tip for consumers:
If you buy online, there is a price point for free shipping. Be sure you order so you are at or above that. Also, shipping takes a good 5-10 days for regular shipping, so you need to plan ahead. It’s also fun to shop in one of their retail stores, if you happen to live near one. I’ve found store employees and customer service extremely helpful in choosing the right products for my level.
