I'm a professional who travels on business very frequently. I'm a diamond member with choice rewards. My stay in April of this year was in Edinburgh South Texas at the Mainstay hotel. I stayed for five evenings. Where is the state was fine when I went to check out I was told that housekeeping found that I had broken a glass, and many of the dishes were missing.
This is Simply is NOT the case. I did, break a small glass which I am more than happy to replace and to pay for. However, the notion that any dishes were vanished is a lie. I was the only person staying there at the hotel, and I did not take anything out of the room at any point.
Unfortunately, I did not take photos or an inventory of the few dishes that were in the kitchen upon my arrival. I would recommend for anyone and everyone to do so. After trying to reason with the management, they told me that I could not stay at the hotel again until I paid the $35 (for the broken glass). This was totally insulting. If I had been responsible, I would have paid for it all day long…The principal of the matter is ridiculous. I would stay clear of this hotel if I were you.
I looked up the owners information and emailed him directly explaining the case because I was so offended… And I received zero response. I guess they are desperate for money, and so they are okay with ripping their clientele off.
