Well travelled grumpy old man
International Market Research
As a free address book 'in the cloud' Plaxo is brilliant. It needs a bit of work setting up, but once you've imported addresses from wherever, it works very well. At some point they started trying to become a social network site which doesn't seem to work so well - so I just ignore that side of the business. Turn off all the 'birthday information requests' and that cuts down the emails to occasional requests for you to upgrade to the paid version, which seems fair enough. If you move frequently or change phone numbers it is great for sending out your new details to your selected list of recipients.
For those who suffer from the blues / depression / bi-polar disorder / mood swings etc. a well laid out FREE site to chart your daily state through a clever 20 flash card system and record the results on a graph. Tracking your daily scores can help you work out what triggers lows and highs and then improve the situation. You have the option to send the results to a friend. The site is extremely well reviewed in the press (see the 'News' and 'Testimonials'). It certainly helps me fight off the 'black dog'!
Good reliable 100% honest site run by a well known British consumer journalist. Some of the deals listed are a bit convoluted but that is not really the fault of MSE. The site is very crowded but it covers a lot of different products and industries. The forum section is extensive and includes discussions and warnings on scam traders (go to search, insert the name of the suspect website and search on the forum list).
Part of the Scentmall scam system - see full comments listed under scentmall.net They operate several websites including scentmallcatalog.com All are scam sites. They will either deliver nothing or occasionally ship fake rubbish. Check on google with 'scentmall' plus 'scam' or 'fraud' or 'fake' - hundreds of thousands of people have been ripped off. These are major international scammers stealing millions of pounds from people.
Good looking professional website offering great prices on perfume - or so I thought. Ordered present for my wife in December in plenty of time for Xmas. Got confirmation email and dispatch notification - only then saw that they are based in Bulgaria. My heart sank. Needless to say the perfume did not appear by Christmas. Started chasing and got a Bulgarian tracking number - not usable in the UK. Asked Scentmall to track from their end - no response. Then went on internet and found that I was only one of many thousands of people who are in the same situation - goods never arrive despite all sorts of promises... It also appear that sometimes they do send a product, but then that turns out to be a cheap fake. These guys are making HUGE amounts of money, relying on the fact that because the purchase is probably around £50 or so that the victims will eventually give up. I intend to keep chasing them - Bank / credit card / Bulgarian embassy / EEC / Trading standards / MP / Bulgarian police complaint etc. I just HATE being ripped off. Which idiots let Bulgaria into the EEC? If you have been ripped off by these scumbags please keep on hassling them! With luck we'll eventually get them shut down...
Update on this: I am trying to track down the main architect of this Scentmall scam, a Bulgarian who calls himself * He may also be known as * and * so you may find those variants as well combined with a number of dodgy perfume sites, all supplying or rather not supplying goods from Bulgaria. Occasionally they do actually ship fake rip offs. This clown has been kind enough to post his own social network contact details up on a website called *edited* Now hopefully some of the many thousands of people you have ripped off can blitz you with messages saying what an unpleasant scammer you are... It might not get you your money back but it may give you some satisfaction!
A variety of scentmall badged sites all operate the same scams -. Net /. Org / catalog.com etc. It seems that complaints got the original. Com and. co.uk sites shut down. Hopefully pressure and complaints can get the current sites shut down as well.

My wife uses this a couple of times a year and the stuff is real and comes fairly quickly. Having been burned by the scam site www.scentmall.org which turned out to be a bunch of cowboy bastards in Bulgaria we will stick with Cheapsmells.com in Guernsey, Channel Islands from now on. Pay a little bit more and be safe!
