My 20 years hand sharpening and restoring scissors, I have seen great scissors and not so great. When a stylist gives me their scissors to service I check them first to see how much work they need. I have seen counterfeit, I always reach out for scissor sample around the globe. Recently I ordered samples from a Chinese company, country of origin lasered was Germany. Point is they will mislabel per requests. I have many customers who purchased Hanzo scissors and paid a lot of money for a mid quality scissor. They're not worth the price, it's a sale created based on emotions. It's like a bad business college project. There are so many great, real Japanese and Korean brands that are worth their price. Hanzo doesn't fit in that category. They have taken down on line reviews and have pending litigation against them. Stay away is my professional experience. Hanzos based on quality should be sold under $399.00 Go look at Scissor Mall. They're in business since 1985. My mentor went on to create scissor sharpening education and certification. He totally agreed as well as my scissor suppliers and manufacturers. Hanzos at not the best choice.
