One answer could be that many suppliers are using off-shore manufacturing and just not able to guarantee products to end user.

Having purchased 6 of these ceiling, quite expensive, fans we experienced lots of issues. Noise, variation in speeds, you name it. They are one year old, and so far 4 of them have been replaced. The last replacements (2 fans) were this week, and there is no change in the performance. The replacements are as noisy as the ones that were replaced. One can't fault the customer service in terms of replacement of the faulty fans, but since the faulty ones are being replaced with similarly faulty fans, what can I say? Other than I would never buy Hunter Pacific products again, and heartily discourage others from doing so.

Tip for consumers:
Don't buy Hunter Pacific Fans. Not unless they change their design and can prove it.

I have bought lots of things from Light In The Box, some happy buys, some not so happy. But this one really disappoints. Two metal art wall hangings, ordered about 4 weeks ago, finally arrived. So badly packaged that, in their handling from China, bent and bashed, the items were damaged - not a lot but enough. The metal flower shapes were bent forward so that when I bent them back into place, the gold paint cracked. A couple of pearl type beads were dislodged from the flower shapes, and had to be re-glued. The bubble wrap used to very lightly pack the pieces was dirty and minimal. Each one should have been protected with heavy cardboard... the outer packaging was squashed - no wonder the pieces were damaged. Very expensive items (for what they were) and incredibly slow, expensive shipping. I won't be recommending Light in The Box in future.

Tip for consumers:
Ask questions....be mindful that items are shipped weeks after you order, and packaging might not be appropriate.

Not Happy Jan. They overcharged for shipping ($76 when it should have been $23, which they admitted to later in an email), didn't give me the discount they advertised. Finally provided a discount via PayPal refund (after complaint), but still no refund on overcharged shipping.
AND I still don't have the item.
I would recommend that anyone considering buying from this seller to think twice and do your homework. Wish I had. I would never buy from them again.
Customer service is very poor. You'll receive automated computer generated responses to your concerns, and they won't address the issues you put forward.
DON'T BUY FROM THEM.
