Purchased ham for Easter. It was a splurge but we spent the $55 for a quarter ham to have a nice meal. I was so surprised and disappointed when I opened it on Easter and it was burned BLACK. We tried to eat it because we had nothing else, but the whole thing tasted like burned sugar.
I called the store the next day and they told us to bring it in and "it would be very helpful to bring the receipt." I assumed that a company that charges that much would stand by their product. I looked everywhere and could not find the receipt. I even dug through a garbage to find it. We brought it in as soon as we could as we were traveling.
The manager was unapologetic and refused to make it right. She didn't care that our meal was ruined. She refused to issue any refund even though she could clearly see the price we paid on the label and she could clearly see how terribly burned it was. The most she offered was a $25 gift card, less than half the value of what we purchased. And who would want another burned ham anyway?
Who would ever think to hold on to a receipt for a ham? Terrible, terrible experience. I will never buy anything from this store again.
