1/6/22

I've spent over $******* on sideshow products over the years from comic stores and from their site. I've had a few issues with them and that is where the problems come in.

- A product arrived damaged. They sent out a replacement part, but it wasn't in the best condition. I contacted them about the part and they said they would not replace the part because the part I was unsatisfied with could not be seen once the statue is put together.

- They will not let you leave what they perceive to be a negative review of a product. That should tell you how shady they are.

- I had a statue on a purchase plan. It was delayed a few months and I didn't realize that my credit card expired before the last charge. The item was ordered about a year before and should have arrived before my card expired. I received an email and lost my deposit even though I called them and explain the situation. They had all my information and only sent an email. I do not check my email every day, so I didn't see the notice until it was too late. I had checked their site earlier and they do not leave notifications on your account. So no item and loss of deposit.

- I had another order that was canceled by them for no reason. The day it was supposed to arrive they contacted UPS and recalled the order for no reason. I contacted customer service and they blamed the carrier. I tracked the items on the website and it specifically stated that the package was recalled by Sideshow. They claimed once an order has been returned to them, they cannot send it out again. Sounds fishy to me.

- Rewards points. I had a couple of hundred dollars worth of rewards points expire. It seems that they decided to place an expiration date on their rewards points. I've been a customer with them for a decade. Apparently, they expired on the 1st of the year, and I tried to use them to make a purchase on the 3rd. I placed an order recently (the one that they canceled) and it never gave me a notification that my rewards points were expiring. They stated that they sent an email out a year ago, but I didn't see it or I thought it was an advertisement from Sideshow and didn't read it. I read that they would mark the points that are about to expire and I didn't see anything when I placed my previous order. I also check my notifications regularly, but for some reason, they do not put that on your account notifications. It's because they want you to lose your points. I probably should have used the points earlier, but I wanted to save them in case there was something I really wanted, and I didn't have enough set aside to purchase it.

These are just some of the examples of issues I've had with them. Some were disappointing and minor, but the loss of the points is the straw that broke the camel's back. Life lessons. I will see if I can use my remaining points and never support them again. These experiences make it seem like they try to screw you over every chance they get. They sell products from other manufacturers, I will purchase directly from those manufacturers instead.

After using this site for a while; I would have to say be careful. I've had multiple encounters with scammers. A few of these ladies are actually the ones pictured, but they are part of the scam. Read the advice on the website on how to avoid scams; anytime there is talk about money, be wary. They may not ask you for money directly, but they may make suggestions about investing and such. It is all part of a scam. This is the theme of the few that I have experienced:

- Join a site to see their "pictures" or to better communicate with them. Then they need you to prove your "sincerity" or to show them that they are "unconditionally favored." To do this you need to buy them stuff through a specific website or join and deposit money into a specific website.

I'm not sure if they can do much about some of these scammers; even if they are verified it does not mean they are not trying to scam you. As with any of these sites: don't hesitate to converse, just be careful.

I've also spoken with multiple women that were actually looking for a partner, but it didn't work out for one reason or another. They are there, just don't rush and take your time to learn about them.

I do question why this one company has so many different sites. It would make more sense to me if they only had one site. This means that there would be more people, but they want you to join multiple sites and pay for access on each.

Tip for consumers:
Be careful and do not be afraid to question things; especially if it involves spending money on them to prove your feelings. It is a con. I suggest 2 things:

1) Check to see if they viewed your profile. If they have any real interest, they should be checking your profile first.
2) Insist on video chatting early on. If they try to make you spend money in some way before they are willing to video chat with you; it should tell you all you need to know.

Placed an order online with a delivery date a month away. There were no problem placing the order for delivery. Got an email confirmation. A few days before the item was suppose to be delivered, I get an email saying they were preparing the order and that I will receive notification when it leaves the warehouse. The morning of the day it is suppose to arrive; I get an email saying the order has been cancelled. No options given. Seems like a horrible company; service is definitely horrible.

I've been using this site for about a month. Here is the breakdown of my thoughts and experiences with it so far. (Account creation and the browse/search features are free.)

This site has a monthly fee charge if you want to communicate. The more months you purchase at one time, the bigger the discount. If you do decide to pay, automatic renew is set to' yes.' Make sure you change it to 'no' in the billing options if you do not want it to auto renew. There are 2 payments tiers - Gold and Platinum. This is necessary for you to send messages to other members, unless they are already a paying member. Messages can be sent to anyone, however it can only be read if one of the two communicating members has a paid membership. I prefer this method over how other dating sites charge you for ever little transaction. This is a huge plus for this umbrella of dating sites. Unfortunately, membership on one site does not grant membership to their others.

There are a wide variety of members from different countries, but the overall number of members seem to be a little low compared to a few of their other sites. I've communicated with a few members, but nothing serious has come from it yet. No one has asked me for money, gifts, etc.; so that is a good thing. I, also, do not get a massive number of messages from women when I have no profile picture or information on my profile. I am not saying that this site is scam free, but they seem to have a bit of an handle on it.

Overall my experiences with this dating site have not been bad. There seems to be a lot of old accounts that have not been purged or disabled. I think they should disable accounts that have been inactive for maybe 3 to 6 months; users should be able to reactive them by logging back on. Searches come up with a lot of people that are no longer active. You may wish to sort searches by last active date just so you have a better chance of actually getting a response.

If you are interested in trying this site; I recommend you create a free account and try it out. Do not join unless you find a few souls you wish to communicate with. There is also some safety advice posted on each profile page to help you avoid scammers. Check their other sites, as most of them seem to have more (active) members. The international cupid site seems to be the most active out of the ones I've looked at.

This site belongs to the same group of Dating sites that have all been under suspicion of being a scam. They all fall under the Victoria Hearts umbrella: Romance Tale, Asia Charm, Victoria Hearts/Brides, etc.

It seems that most, if not all, of the ladies used on this site are paid models. Most of the pictures are professional, and have been touched up by photoshop. The ladies will send you multiple messages and attempt to persuade you to interact with them and spend money. I emailed support with questions, but they go unanswered. You get the canned responses. The ladies with tell you how attractive you are and how they want to get to know you. The thing is, this happens even when you do not have a picture on your profile. If you message the ladies for proof that they are the actual person you see in the pictures, you will not get a response. It is basically like those phone sex lines. They advertise one person, however, if you call the number. You have no idea to whom you are actually speaking.

You get 20 credits to use when register. Test it out, and see. However, do not spend any of your own money.

If you search their other sites and check their reviews; all the valid ones show low ratings. The company doesn't even respond to the negative reviews. It seems like they are located in Cyprus. I could not find anything that shows these sites to be authentic dating sites.
