Many sites curate content, but it's not easy to keep users interested and engaged day after day. Uncrate is always a go-to source of what's new and interesting for guys.

A hidden gem in the sea of male fashion sites. The content is well curated and connects you to many good products, sites, and companies. Check out the iPad app if you can.

  • Digg

If you've kept up on your share of social media news, Digg used to be the king of content back a few years back. Things have since dramatically changed, but for the worse. The site has lost its spark.

My experiences with the site were great after it launched. The buzz was high, the products were top-end, and the deals were really mindblowing.

Nowadays, the buzz has wornoff, the products are getting repetitive, and the deals are just adequate. Nothing unexpected, but considering the return policy (or lack of), I'm not confident that the site is worth your time.

Gets the job done, but at what price?

The UX team is MIA, the prices are far from ideal, and the commercials... tacky.

When you make a purchase from a company, you're voting with your money for the company to continue its ways. There are better options out there if you just spend an hour researching. Put your vote elsewhere, if you can.

Not sure why the current rating is so low. It's free, it's integrated across countless apps, it rarely goes down, and did I mention it's free?

Besides potential privacy issues, I don't see how anyone has the right to hate on it.

- If you're a student or a mom, sign up for free Amazon Prime. The free shipping has made me extremely happy with Amazon and extremely unhappy when other companies fail to match Amazon's level of shipping service.
- Check out prices elsewhere when you want to buy something - most of the time you'll come right back to Amazon. If you want electronics, I highly recommend sticking to either Amazon or Newegg.

I heard about the site from a classmate, so I logged in and spent a few minutes adding my profile/resume info. Didn't really expect much, but within a couple weeks I was contacted by recruiters looking to fill internship positions. Got a couple interviews out of it. Pretty good considering how little time I spent on the site.
