DHL are handling a shipment for me and ring me up asking what the Australian TC Numbers are for duty!
So we pay a brokerage fee to DHL and I have to supply the brokerage dept. all the stuff they are supposed to be experts in?
What a joke!

So I am in the market for a lounge and popped in to Scott Berkowitz - they have good quality furniture, and found what I was looking for, the regular show room price was $5300 but during their sale it was only $4300 a great saving on normal price you would think. Of course like any intelligent person I looked around for the exact same piece and found it at a store on the other side of Melbourne, I asked for a quote and was amazed to be quoted $3,600!
I asked the sales person to double check and he confirmed that it was $3,600, my comment to him was that I was surprised as I was expecting the lounge to be much more, but he replied it was a fair price which they regularly sold this piece for.
So if you are looking at Berkowitz for furniture (or indeed at any retailer) my advice is search around, I am sure most of the exact same items can be sourced from alternative shops for much less, its just some places have much higher overheads with all their advertising - which you pay for!

Ive been using Recon software for my business since around 1993, some years ago I switched to their on line version. Each year my accountant inspects the accounts and produces my financials for submission.
This year we found significant anomalies which we tracked back to the software miss handling data from around 14 years ago - IT ONLY DECIDED TO DO IT THIS YEAR!
A number of Reckon software partners said data recover could be done at $150 (ex gst) per hour - estimates were anywhere from 4 hours to possibly days!
So their software fails and I have to pay for it!
In the end my accountant (an ex Reckon professional parter) and I rebuilt the data, at a cost of 5 days to me and a cost of 6 hours of my accounts time.
What I found very interesting was the number of people whom Reckon suggested I contact to rebuild my data who suggested switching to Intuit software because they had lost faith in Reckon.
Intuit they claim is more stable, far cheaper to subscribe to and unlike Reckon Online software ACTUALLY works on my Android.
Yes Reckon claims it works on Android BUT IT DOES NOT.
In my opinion as a Reckon user for over 20 years Reckon has more bugs than a squatters house.
They do have an Indian help desk (That you have to wait upto 30 minuites to talk to) but their product knowledge is extremely poor at best which is about the same as their compression of the English language.
If you are running a SM businesd and truly interested in a hassle free accounting software program DONT USE RECKON.

Purchased a Scholl battery powered Velvet Smooth Express Pedi unit for removing dry skin on the feet.
After using it for a good half hour the built up dry skin on my heals was not much less than at the start. Switched to the old pumice board and did the job 100% in about 10 minutes.
You would expect for around $30 it might do what they claim. I guess I was sucked in by the slick ad.

Zoosk is a site that manages to charge for everything (you have to buy coins to actually see the persons profile after you join up as a paid member) and its not that cheap in the long run.
My opinion is most profiles are fakes, I make this assumption on the number of ladies that sent an "Im interested in you" message but out of well over 100 messages only two actually ever replied when I contacted them, and the two members I did speak with shared the same experience as has a male friend who joined. HONESTLY DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR HARD EARNED CASH ON THE ZOOSK SITE

I purchased a 2 and 3 seater leather lounge in Dec 2011 after approx 18 months use everyone started to complain about sinking in to to lounge and I MEAN SINKING! The leather has also badly stretched on one suite due to the sagging. I contacted the shop at Water Gardens Victoria and was advised they would wave the repair charge for the webbing support but I would have to pay pick up and delivery. Got the suite back with the webbing re tensioned and all the cushions OVER STUFFED with Dacron but still the leather was stretched on the one suite making the suite look like something a frat house pinched from a rubbish dump. 12 months later the suite is back to where it was and I am ready to throw it out. When sold the suite I was assured it was an excellent quality with good warranty. In my opinion Adriatic sell cheaply made Chinese mass produced JUNK! Save your money and buy something Australian made and ensure it has metal suspension in the frame. Their warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.
