5/10/22

At the Grand Ledge, Michigan Taco Bell my weekday noon pickup order service was very poor and the central site for customer comments has not provided the reply that may be requested there. The new app system offers some menu items and prices not otherwise available, but only by phone app, computer, or in-lobby kiosk. Orders at the counter for such offers are not accepted. Also, any face to face orders require waiting for a worker to notice, get free of other tasks, and come to the counter. I received not the advertised box but a bag, not the ordered crisps, not the ordered sauce packets, not napkins, not a straw, not a receipt, so not the code number for the comment site, and so no entry for the periodic money drawing. The ordered taco was provided but not visibly full and the ordered burrito was provided but had around one tablespoon of meat. I did get a cup for the ordered soft drink and asked for and received the missing items. The payment was posted immediately on my bank card. Twice, I found their central internet site for comments and provided these details and clicked for them to reply, but it continues that nothing has been received. So, be careful to check for completeness and quality orders made by the current system, and try to get personal attention if particular items delivered seem to be substandard.

Tip for consumers:
When using the new system for ordering, check the received items for inclusion of everything and then also try to get someone's attention if any of the food items seem to be substandard.

Samsung TV and audio accessories are generally excellent, but the subwoofer of my HW-R450 sound bar stopped working. Two sessions over 1 1/2 hours had techs calling for user booklet installation steps over and over and then had "higher level" send me an email. "Firmware" site should be accessed for download to flash drive and fed into the soundbar port. Download would show no text at all and therefore not the tab to get the "firmware," but only invitations again and again to give model number and click for the download. I went to Samsung's separate customer comment site and advised (a) if the unit is still supported, fix the "firmware" site to operate, or (b) if the unit is not supported, remove the access steps from the site so people will not be led to a dead end. A retail chain store tech advised that the subwoofer cannot be serviced at all. Perhaps not enough days since my customer comment site complaint to know if Samsung will respond or not. Thus, be aware that a soundbar could have limited life and could have failure of one or another function and that even Samsung's user service agents may have limited awareness.

Tip for consumers:
A sound bar may develop partial failures, even not very long after end of warranty.
Even Samsung user service agents may have limited awareness.

AT&T seems to have been trying to improve their client services but seems still unsuccessful. They sent an email invitation to contact for a good price for a new internet contract, but when I phoned the agent offered a deal but suddenly forgot it and insisted that I had to contact them only on the last day of the current contract or the first day of a new contract. This boxed me into losing all internet service if I wouldn't accept their offer to be made at the deadline and didn't already have a new provider and device ready and waiting then. Later I got a billing notice with an increased charge because the service period would run into some days after the end of my current contract. I phoned and the agent offered a new contract at the same rate, speaking two and a half weeks rather than hours or minutes before the end of my current contract, and also saying that this was $20.00/month less than the "regular" rate and the new bill's increase would be removed, so it would be risky if I didn't accept then and there, so I did. This is the third time they've played the same game yearly.

Tip for consumers:
If AT&T exists, be aware of their renewal or alternative selection procedures
might have some planned tactics and required client behaviors, and what
clients are told might get changed.

AT&T seems to have little success in improving client services for their Wireless service, also called Mobility service, Monthly bills were showing by my bank but nothing whatsoever to be found on the AT&T web site. I spent three hours over two days on text and voice chats with their techs. Many directed tries on my desktop yielded no access. I was to provide the account number but my knowing it was barred. Any information about my account was barred by federal law, even though I have been a party to the contract. Then they did give me the account number after two hours and a special phone number to call, where after more of the same I was given yet another phone number to call. That agent took me through many steps on my desktop so now I can readily access the information about the service and its terms.

Tip for consumers:
Beware of AT&T billing practices.
It seems that their customer service agents are very limited
in their training and support.

After their urging since Christmas, I did personal taxes in March but five missing inputs, 2 hours and then 30 minutes with techs, no resolution. Told to file but not e-file but paper filing showed much missing. Tech promised refund dept. would phone me, but no call. Had to internet search to find refund dept. to apply, but site often down and only tapping in internet search would connect. Now my application is "closed" and no refund and promised message to me is way overdue.

Tip for consumers:
truthfulness by Turbotax that their programs were and still are not entirely ready to operate, and how to access their refund dept.
