It has taken me over half a year to cancel my account, which was paid in full with the security funds. It still shows as open on my equifax report, stating I have missed payments and a balance owing. On my transunion report it finally shows as closed. It took several complaints and dozens of emails with their 'customer care' team to get anything done, and my issue is still unresolved. If you want a giant headache that will haunt your credit report long past the time you close the account, choose Refresh. If you want sanity and peace of mind, don't open any accounts with them or apply for any of their products. They simply do not care.
Tip for consumers:
They do not have good reporting practices. Not only are payments reported late, they are sometimes not reported at all. Not only this, but when attempting to cancel and close the account they will fail to report the account as closed and paid in full to both equifax and transunion, meaning you will start getting 'late payment' notices on an account that has long been closed and paid in full, ruining your credit score. It takes months for their customer care team to resolve issues. AVOID.
