I did not have the greatest experience with SmartSign. I ordered a sign for a friend for Christmas... nothing fancy, just an engraved plastic sign. The invoice indicated an estimated shipping date but I never received another email indicating shipping had occurred, so I wasn't sure if it was going to arrive before Christmas or not. It did show up on the 21st but unfortunately had two errors. The first two lines were underlined and there was one extra space on the top line, and two extra spaces on the bottom line, which not only looked sloppy it threw the wording off center. I contacted customer service by phone and then, at their request, followed up with an email which included photos of the error. I told the representative the sign was a gift for Christmas and he said they would try to get the replacement out to me in time. It took two days for that same representative to acknowledge my email and forward it to the production staff who made the error; apparently one of many subcontractors to whom they farm out the actual work. When I responded to the email and asked why it was taking so long when I was told every attempt would be made to get it to me by Christmas, I received a response -- 2 days later -- that said only, "I will let you know when your replacement has been shipped." 4 days later, and now AFTER Christmas, I finally received an email (from that same representative) that said the package had shipped. It arrived the very next day so it had shipped several days before I was contacted. I don't know if they have just that one guy in customer service, but I only dealt with him and he was quite unfriendly, seemed put-out by my call, and didn't seem to be very competent. Terrible Customer Service! There are tons of sites online that perform this basic service and next time I will most definitely be choosing another!
