Based on my 1-star review on google
8/4/21 - I have been doing a lot of traveling lately. With that being said I have had numerous google reviews pop up on my phone. This includes reviews from places I have been to recently and a few years ago. So about a week ago I get a review for Dunne Wright Services, LLC. My review WAS NOT based on my experience with the staff! My experience was great, the customer service was impeccable. I applied in late 2019 to rent a house in Baltimore City. If you are from the area you know the city is NOT the best area to live especially when you have school-aged kids. In most areas, the houses are old and not well-kept. However, since I was going through a breakup/divorce during my bankruptcy and I had limited income at the time, and my credit was hit hard. Things happen and that was all I could do at the time. If anyone has ever been through bankruptcy then you know getting a place can be hard afterward. I was denied by Dunne Wright Services, LLC. in 2019 at that time I didn't view any homes, which was ok. In February of 2020, I applied again. I went to view one home and from the pictures, it looked ok. I decided I would settle because I had to. The house was just not good at all. It was horrible. You could barely walk up the steps. Like the bad joke, you have to go outside to change your mind. This house was it. That is my opinion and I'm entitled to it. That was what my review was based on and that only. I have not been online and bashed this business ever prior to. I never openly attacked this business at all. I give it 1-star based on the house! I was not upset at all about anything regarding my experience.

Again, I gave a 1-star because the home I visited was a 1-star home! I was expecting a little better like the pics I saw. I did ask about another house but it became unavailable. I just decided to move on and not continue with this company. No hard feelings. Now for the owner or staff member to come on here and be butt-hurt about a google review and be on the attack is ridiculous. What should have been asked is why I gave the review in the first place. This is how you grow a business. That is how you engage the public in a healthy way. That is how you have real constructive criticism. So what was stated, I guess from the owner was "while we welcome constructive criticism, it only helps us do better, we will not standby while a person like yourself attacks this company for no reason other than you being upset with yourself and taking it out on us".

A person like myself? What kind of person I'm I? I guess you thought I was a hood rat, low class, but no I'm a very well-educated woman with three degrees and her own business. I contacted this company because I fell on hard times and was down on my luck. Most people have been. It was a very humbling experience for me. I made no attack. The attack seems like it's coming from Dunne Wright Services, LLC. Next, from the response given, if I would have given what YOU call "constructive criticism" based on the response to my 1-star rating. I'm almost positive I would have received the same backlash if not worse. If this is how you respond to bad reviews you do not want constructive criticism! Last, it was suggested I take a look in the mirror when placing blame. I never stated or placed any blame. I just gave a 1-star review without an explanation. But when I do look in the mirror (which is every damn day multiple times a day) I see a business owner who is now making a six-figure income and has a 4 bedroom home. A far cry from 2019-2020 in such a short time. As a business owner who knows HOW to engage with the public, next time learn how to deal with bad reviews. Everybody will not give you a 4-5 star rating. From the bad reviews listed here on google, it seems this company has an issue with that. People don't leave bad reviews just because. That's just bad business to go back and forward on social media/online, but you found the right one to go back and forth with. You opened the door for this and I'm gonna glide right through. Fix the issues that need to be fixed. Grow from it. Just do better. I'm not the woman in 2019-2020 that applied for housing with your business that you suggest I may be based on my bankruptcy and my past credit history which is why I was denied, and that's ok. I guess you thought that was a dig. I got tough skin. I simply gave a 1-star review based on the house I saw. So the review can stay a 1-star for the houses, business, and the owner.

According to the Baltimore Sun in 2016 Dunne Wright Services settles a class-action lawsuit with tenants over fees and evictions. Of course, they denied the allegations in the lawsuit but agreed to allocate nearly $663,000 to reduce the debts of past and current tenants, to credit their rents, and reimburse some costs. The company also agreed to pay $61,500 in tenants' legal fees. As a business owner, it is a best practice not to get on social media/online and blast people's personal and private information. Going back and forth stating why they were denied housing, how they got evicted, and stating in public they have credit issues, etc. is just NOT good business. If that continues you most definitely will end up back in court. Instead of coming for people who give you 1-star/bad reviews get your business all the way together!
