Don't order anything from these folks. I made the mistake of ordering 30 yards of metallic ribbon. Who sends out an order of ribbon in two pieces. Yup, that's what they did. What's worse when I called they didn't think there was a problem with it! The order came wrapped around a piece of dirty cardboard with the yardage scribbled across the top. The other part came in the same disarray. They said they would issue a refund less a 25% re-stocking fee. Say what! Re-stocking... it came to me from a barn. They were rude, un-accommodating and clue-less about how to ship out an order professionally. Never order anything from Lace Heaven... you've been warned.

I've used Guru.com three times, which was three times too many. They apparently do not screen the competency level of their contractors because none of them had a "clue" about web design - the service I sought. They put up bogus portfolios to entice prospective customers. During the bidding process, they promised the world and when they won, they delivered little. Part of the problem is a good 70% of Guru's workforce do not have a handle on the English language and therefore were unable to understand the requirements. In turn, the outcome was disappointing. Most knew the mechanics but were in the dark about designing a website. I will never use them again no matter how competitive the rate.

  • USAA

We've only been with them a year but each time I've dealt with them, it's been smooth and positive. The representatives on the phone are knowledgeable, professional and quick - three combination traits difficult to find these days. I was with another insurance group for more than 25 years but decided to switch to USAA after reading all the kudos they were receiving from members (truly the best source) and relevant business magazines.

These folks sold me batteries (replacement ones) supposedly compatible to the ones I requested for my vintage Bulova watch. If these guys are the experts in batteries (I assume this because it's in the name of their company) then they should know that alkaline batteries are unreliable for this type of watch and should have given me silver oxide. But no they wait until I open the package and then tell me - no matter what - I can not return the batteries. "It's probably a defective watch," says the salesman. "Unlikely, I said, "it was working before," No response.

I take it to another store - a big store whose name begins with W and ends with T and... guess what? I got the right batteries from a store that does not specialize in batteries.
Hhhhmmm. Might be a good idea for these folks should rethink their name... you think?

Ordered their product last week after reading all the "glowing" testimonies. Hhhhhmmm, not to be believed. I read that they would send a sample product for "free". Not. Shipping, they say was only $4.95. Not. The biggest scam awaits you if you're not very careful. First they charged me an extra $2.95 because I did not uncheck a box relating to "a more secure delivery." The most egregious act was yet to come. I received the package, opened the jar and thought... hhhmmm... this looks good... this feels good on my face. Then upon opening and reading a folded advertisement I discover that I should not have opened the jar. Opening the jar means I have subscribed and agreed to monthly orders to be charged to my credit card on file. "Well where, pray tell, is my sample," I say to myself. Behold, it's attached to the advertisement and is about the size of 2 postage stamps. I almost threw it away. I never asked for the "real jar". Nor should be storing anyone's credit card number ever without their permission. The whole thing is a hoax. Don't do business with them my friends. Not worth the hassle. If the product is as good as they say, they don't need to use gimmicks to get you to buy."

  • SHEIN

Ok readers, I'm back. I recently wrote a review - the absolute truth - about Shein.com. I won't rehash the entire horrific experience, but believe it or not the saga continues. I thought we were done. Judging from the numerous mindless correspondences they're sending. It's obvious we are not.

They have written me no fewer than 12 times asking the same questions and promising to provide a "call ticket" to pick up or pay for a sweater I cancelled one half hour after placing the order. It has been one huge nightmare. It seems no one has read my countless emails detailing the problem over and over again. Then I get more emails from them asking what my problem is... or, if you can believe this, to buy a few more sweaters from this company.

How can they possibly remain in business? Why are they still operating? The merchandise does not come close to the pictures. They don't have a handle on basic customer care protocol. They are not organized. Their policies are empty. There's no one to speak with. There is no phone number provided. I promise you this: no matter how tech-savvy you are - one simply can not get through their convoluted website to get answers to anything. I repeat - ANYTHING.
They - folks - are hiding behind their cheaply-constructed product line. Speaking of line, they should find another line of work... because business retail is not their calling!
