Nolo probably makes a bundle on selling legal documents that cost them basically nothing. But for the rest of us, Nolo can save you a huge amount of money over paying for an expensive attorney. I'm not saying you shouldn't use an attorney. You should when you need it. But if you're doing basically estate planning stuff, like getting the documents for a basic will, or doing probate stuff. I'd read the Nolo books first before paying for an expensive estate planning attorney.

Bank of America is not really the best bank. In fact it's the best at very little. It's big and impersonal and everything sort of works fine but really not that well. However, I would say that for a small business owner, Bank of America payroll is a good deal. It's much cheaper and perhaps even easier than most of the big payroll companies like ADP. Sure if you have a big business ADP payroll might be the only way to go, but for us small guys Bank of America Payroll isn't half bad.

The new new way to look for a job is on LinkedIn. As annoying as it might be, it has become indispensable.

If you want to buy treasury bonds, bills, notes, etc. directly from the US Government, this is the place to do it. The fees are the lowest and you can trust them as much as you can trust any thing I suppose. The bad news is, as of May 3,2013 you essentially are paying the government to borrow your money since most (all?) real yields are currently negative and if interest rates rise as they one day will, all us bond holders will probably lose even more money. That said, what other assets look more attractive these days? I wish I knew...

Where oh where has Bill Miller gone. He reverted to the mean. Bad joke. Anyhow, Legg Mason, once one of the behemoths of the fund management industry has been brought back down to earth. Sure they offer a range of mutual funds and other financial products, but what really separates them from Fidelity, Blackrock, or anyone else? It's hard to say. For my money, I'd go with Vanguard.
