Since KP worked so hard to make the ACA the universal plan, their work has dropped thru the floor. The doctors are hard to see, and the time limit is 7 minutes. Not so good if you have a disease that is bringing your last days around quickly.
The pharmacies have reduced the amount from a 90 day supply to a 1 month supply. And they have tripled the prices for each medication. And then, knowing I am on a fixed income, get mad at me for not buying the medications they prescribe to keep my lungs, and other organs working.
My wife wants me to stay with them, but I ask why. For emphysema they make it so you can live longer, as you struggle to inhale each breath, and don't have money for rent or food, or 1/2 of the medications they want you to take.
Loma Linda, California has a plan that works toward reducing the Emphysema. Tomorrow I am heading over to them. They did a great job with our children, and worked with us so we were able to give them what they needed.
Today my wife went to pick up a 90 supply of medications for our son. They charged me $1.75 two days ago. I was told if Medicare/Medicaid would pay for it, I would be reimbursed the $1.75.
They charged her $7.00 for a 30 day supply today. My wife doesn't keep receipts, and she tossed the one I had two days ago, We don't use credit cards, cash only so I have no evidence.
Yes, I am quite upset.
Kaiser Permanente was a great plan when my monthly premium of $4,750.00, plus $20.00 co-pay was being paid, before disability forced me to retire.
My suggestion, if you need healthcare or doctors, this is not the place to go.
