I got a phone call from a "care2 employee" and that person asked me if I wanted to donate £5 each month to help support a petition I signed a few weeks ago. Of course I said that I was willing to do it because it's not that much and if it helps good. The only thing that worries me, and I was just wondering, is the call legitimate? The phone call seemed to come from Bristol and I couldn't find any information about phone call donations on the website. I'm also worried because my uncle received a similar call a few weeks ago and gave his bank account details and later my aunt found out it was fake. So can someone please comfirm it is no a scam?

It's a scam. NEVER give your bank account details to anyone who solicits you, and if you called the company, do your research to make sure it's legitimate and secure. I strongly advise that nobody sends money to promote an online petition, partly because once they have your personal details, it's much easier for them to steal your identity (and money), and also because most online petitions really don't do any good anyway - because governments and corporations don't consider electronic petitions legitimate in the first place.
