Does anyone have the address to this place? I received my order and these boots are without a doubt fake and smell funny. Please send information if you have any to give.

I believe I have been scammed. www.cozy2Boots.com - do not buy anything from this site! I just received a pair of UGG boots I bought for my daughter and one of the boots has the UGG insignia upside down! If anyone has an address fro this place let me know... I am definitely reporting them for fraud and calling my credit card company

You're welcome. A common (home-grown) email scam which targets the elderly, asks for a tiny donation for a "good cause" which they don't think is suspicious, something like $2. And of course there is a con behind it, because having got the person's debit card number, there is some very, very tiny (i. E. unreadable if you are elderly) print authorizing the company to take monthly payments from their bank account from then on, with no time or amount limits. And to make matters worse, the conditions go on to state that the person agrees that should their bank account be closed for any reason, they give the company permission to go on taking money from any further account they might open.

This exploits the weakness of using a debit card which is tied to a bank account, as authorized payments on a debit card cannot be revoked by the customer, only by the payee. The only way for an account holder to terminate an agreement is to close the account. This email scam attempts to convince the card holder that he or she has given permission for payments in perpetuity, but in fact this doesn't stand up if it's challenged, and the bank will not transfer a payment to a new account without the account holder's permission. Nevertheless, the company will take as much as it can from the first account before anyone catches on and closes it, and there's nothing the bank will do about that because technically, the person sending the first payment has authorized it - whether they saw the small print or not.

I cite this not only as a warning to be careful using debit cards in transactions with people and companies you aren't sure of, but also to observe that home-grown scams can be considerably worse than anything the Chinese have come up with. They may have cornered the world market in counterfeit goods, but most other kinds of scams out there involve companies and individuals much closer to home.
