on 7/28/15Because they got too big for their britches. They think they have such a clientele that the few who will drop off are insignificant. They would not even refund my fees for an accidental booking I made for the wrong day. You are correct, I have been going thru the local websites of the courses themselves. I was a customer for 5 years with about 40 bookings per year, they took away my free fees and the bonuses. I have not booked with them in 4 months.
Because they're nuts, that's why. They used to waive the booking fee after ten bookings, but now they don't any longer do that, and also raised the booking fee to $3.49 per golfer.
They told me that the "fees" are mentioned in the small type when you sign up. They would not refunded me those fees even though I booked 5 days in advance. ALWAYS call the golf course and book your tee time, that's what I do now. GolfNow won't last long if no one uses them.
Golf Now was bought by The Golf Channel in early 2017. It went from a good deal to complete rip-off. The fees have gone from $0 (once you booked 10 rounds in a year) to between $1.99 - $2.99 per person booked! And, what used to be a great rewards program that could get you free products and golf, now gets you $10 off coupons that are only valid weekday afternoons (read the small print). Bottom line - the site is now a complete rip-off! Good luck trying to contact "customer service" - because there is no customer service. Average wait time is over 20 minutes, and when you do get through, all they try to do is to SELL YOU THEIR $200 VIP PROGRAM. Which also provides you almost no benefits whatsoever - read the fine print!
Yes, it's called greed and scalping the loyal customers. There are better bargains with the competitors; rarely use them now. They lost about 8-10 rounds monthly from me and my son (genius finance strategy).
Scumbag company, to much business and don't care about customers anymore!
I am not sure, even when I call now to book they charge me. Might be a question for them concerning processing.
