My Goodman Furnace (GMS90904CX) was installed in April, 2007. Since then the fan has been replaced twice (vibrating badly at this writing), July, 2013 & Jan, 2014. All work performed by HVAC contractor.
Question: What is causing the fan failures? The first fan was totally torn apart. Is there a way to check the balance during installation?

Please advise, Bill Rittershausen

Most likely, a bad batch off the production line or one of their suppliers sent them a bad batch of particular components i. E. motor brushes, coil winding, copper grade, armiture bearings. Unfortunately, sample testing at the manufacturers level will not show this issue. Only once it has been sent into the field does the problem sho up.
