Company has a draconian no-refund policy regardless of any scenario where their software does not work. When you contact their customer service, instead of being helpful you are lectured on how you should have known it would not work and denied a refund with snide remarks. Highly suggest to avoid them at all costs and use alternatives like Disk Drill.

I purchased the Mac version of DiskWarrior based on the reviews on pcmag.com. After downloading, the software did not do anything to recover any files from my hard drive. I called their tech support and left my number. The recording on the tech support said they will return calls back after 2 hours. I did not receive a call back, and being a time sensitive issue, I called their main customer service line and explained how they did not provide me any value for the money spent. The customer service lady even tried calling their tech support and could not reach them. I asked for a refund based on my experience and they denied me. Beware of your experience with Diskwarrior.

I don't know about v5 yet as it will be easily another week until I have it. In the past this has been a good tool that is far superior to Disk Utility when dealing with damaged directory systems and preventing the need for data recovery software. However, the fact that they still charge for shipping of physical media by ground delivery and have no downloads from their site is simply inexcusable. They are operating as if it's y2k instead of 2016 which does not bode well for a technology company. Even the order process is manual, it takes 2 days to get the order confirmation email from when it's placed. They seem to fail to understand how internet electronic purchases work these days. Their solution was to tell me to get a yahoo mail account so they could email the installer to me faster. Unbelievable.

I've been using Disk Warrior from the earliest version 2. It worked fine until version 4 came out. It would slow down my mac and crash it so I had to reinstall OS X. After almost 4 years I have read all those "nice" reviews about this new update on version 5 and I purchased it again, which I regret now very much. Although, It didn't crash my macs like version 4 did, but it still slows them down twice. Before I run DW 5 on my macs, I've tested the speed of the drives with 'Blackmagic Disk Speed Test' (this is a simple softwere to test read and write speed of your hard drive) and after running Disk Warrior 5 the speed of my macs become twice or more slower then it was before. Well, after that I will never ever buy anything from Alsoft and would never ever recomend it to anyone.

I own a Drobo that suffered a power outage last week. I have tried everything with Drobo support and even they couldn't figure out what was going on. They suggested I send it to a clean room for recovery (quoted at $1,500!) I ended up trying DiskWarrior. Ran longer than expected (about 2 days), but lo and behold it has not only retrieved my files; IT FIXED THE DROBO ENTIRELY. Thanks Alsoft for an amazing product. You saved my career!

The Macintosh computer has a well-earned reputation for stability. But over time, your mac can slow down and may stop working properly. Disk Warrior 5 can solve a lot of these issues when used together with Disk Utility First Aid, Apple's own app. I have been using it since 2005 and it has kept my Macs running longer and more efficiently. I can't say that I understand how it works exactly, although I believe it repairs the disk directory and in so doing improves or optimizes disk performance. Your mac will run faster and you may recover data that was lost before. I'm not quite sure why it isn't sold through the App store but I can tell you that they are a truly reputable and dedicated company. Their product is genuine and I hope you will find it as useful as I have. I recommend running it at least once a month to keep your drive in top shape.
