Buyer Beware! The company offers $500 to sign up for email alerts. They additionally and repeatedly email you trips that are available with the heading you have $500 (dollars, not points) to spend on your next trip. When I went to book, no discount was offered and the price was higher than advertised. When I questioned the agent, I was then told that in order to get the $500 applied to my trip, I had to spend $10,00.00 because I could only redeem 5% of the trip value. According to the agent, I had been given points, even though I was promised dollars.

What a horrible experience and I haven't even left home! My flight was changed by TAP and I have a 10 hour layover in Lisbon. I have lost another day on our vacation. Staff at Azores Getaway sounded like a broken record reading from a script that they cannot do anything. If I could of cancelled this vacation, I would have. Inquired about SATA. If flight was changed to SATA, I would have to pay to book the flight. Azores Getaways was no help whatsoever. If I go into Lisbon, I have to pay to have my luggage stored over $60 Euros... Taxi is $15-20 Euros... That is the tourist price, if you are Portuguese, its only $5 Euros ( scamming tourists). So, that's about a $100 Euros without doing anything.
I would like to know how many other travelers have experienced the same. Is this a one-off or does this happen often?

We truly apologize for the stress that this flight schedule change has caused you. Our main goal is to provide hassle-free relaxing vacations to our clients and we feel sad to know that this was not possible until this moment due to this flight change.

Since we are a travel agency, we are always dependent on the conditions imposed by the airlines. We try to negotiate them as much as possible to help our clients and we reinforce that no flight changes were happening at the time of booking. Normally these are last-minute alterations that happen occasionally and the airline advises all customers directly about their options.

We truly hope that you are still able to enjoy your time in São Miguel Island and we are sure you are going to love your days there. We will be here to assist you with any other questions that you may have or information that you may need.

Had a wonderful time in Terceira in Mar 2019. Thought we would go again. Booked and paid for a trip with AZORES GETAWAYS to Terceira for travel in Mar 2020. Cancelled by Covid (NOT by me). Was issued travel credit for future use. Rebooked for Mar 2021. Same story. Cancelled by Covid restrictions (NOT by me). Again we were issued a travel credit for $1400. Was told we could use it whenever we wanted for future travel. Kept receiving ads from them saying we had a travel credit. Tried to use it for travel this spring. Was told "we are sorry,unfortunately, blah blah" Very frustrating and totally wrong! And we were repeat customers. Fraud and theft of our money. UNACCEPTABLE AZORES GETAWAYS

We truly apologize for this situation. Our goal is to provide memorable trips and hassle-free booking experiences to our clients, and we regret to learn that we are not being able to do that for you.

As mentioned in our last emails, we have contacted all the partners involved in your travel package (e.g. Hotel, airline) again and requested for the travel credit to be extended. Unfortunately, our direct partners did not accept extending the travel credit and we are not able to override their decision. Your travel credit was available on your account for 3 years but it expired on December 31st, 2022 as previously informed.

Once again, we truly apologize for this situation and we will remain available for any additional questions that you may have.

We recently went on an Algarve package that was advertised through Travelzoo but booked through Azores Getaways. We were traveling with another couple that had never bought a discount package before. Through no fault of their own, they missed the TAP Portugal flight in Toronto. When they contacted Azores Getaway for help to get onto the next flight, they did absolutely nothing for them. They basically said - phone the airline. Our package for flight and one week hotel cost $800 per person. TAP wanted $2000 pp to get on the next flight! This is beyond a ripoff! How can a package be sold for $800 but then when you need flight only, they want $2000?! I am absolutely certain that Azores Getaways could have negotiated a better deal if they had shown any interest in helping our friends. We did have a great trip after we got over not being with our friends (they lost $800 apiece) but just be forwarned - once Azores Getaways sells you a package, you are on your own!

My wife and I booked a 23 day trip to the Azores through AG (Azores Getaways) back in 2020, to travel in 2021. Due to the Covid HOAX, all travel was Suspended. We had prepaid for the trip, and it was non/-refundable, and we did not have travel insurance. Due to my Wife an I's work schedules, we weren't able to travel until this past January
(2024) Azores Getaways honored ALL of our credits, including side trips and rental car reservations each of the 4 islands we stayed on.
They helped us upgrade our satays when we wanted to, Changed inter island flight dates, etc. ALL for no charge. They even made Restaurant Reservations at places we were not able to contact due to cell service, or language Barrier's.
Azores Getaways was Fantastic and went over and above. I recommend them to everyone!
