These guys were friendly and I talked to them in Portuguese but I never received my deposit despite contacting them several times!

SCAM! As all of the other comments states, we never received back our 800EUR deposit, and we returned the scooter more than 2 months ago. After several emails back and forth and trying to phone them many times without luck, we never received the deposit return. They write on email that the deposit is in dispute and that I should ask my bank to withdraw the dispute. We made a bank dispute so we got our money back temporarily from our bank until the dispute is solved, but this can take up to 6 months. Please - do not use Azor Motors / Rent-a-Car in Ponta Delgada, Rua António Joaquim Nunes da Silva Nº 40. We booked through their website AzorMotors.com. Stay away for god's sake! They are liars and the owner of the company Clife Santos is a huge scammer!
