Do not put your loved one here! Care One Valley killed my father between their neglect, lies, and failure to care for him properly. All I heard was how short staffed they were. After some research I found out they didn't have the proper patient staff ratio required by the NJ department of health. They would ignore my dad's call bell all the time for a minimum of 45 minutes and one of those neglectful ignores is what caused him to die right there on their floor. They also would leave him in bed all weekend, not feed and hydrate him at the proper times a day and skip meals/water and medication or give the wrong ones. He was there to get Physical Therapy yet he would spend 95% of the weekday in his bed or wheelchair (wheelchair only because I got him up in it daily) and weekends in bed. No PT on weekends supposedly. Absolutely disgraceful place and needs to be shut down immediately.
This doesn't deserve one star even. Horrible Dental Floss -like flossing with thread. Aren't there governmental guidelines for health products? This is the worse of the worse.
As crazy as this sounds, my father was forced to call 911 twice on his own (first time his catheter was blocked, second time he was having a heart attack). He begged the nurses both times to call 911 and they refused and lied by telling him he wasn't permitted to call 911 on his own either. If you have a family member who doesn't have the capacity to call 911 on his/her own, or can easily be deceived or influenced by what nonsense is being told to them, I would NOT recommend this facility. My father would literally be dead had he not called 911 himself. How sad is that, my 80 year old father couldn't rely on healthcare staff to seek emergency assistance for him. We requested a copy of the medical notes and it unbelievable the lies that are in it about what happened. CareOne will probably respond to this with their 800 number to call. Don't bother. Instead, report your claims to DPH, CMS and the Nursing board so something actually gets done regarding this elder abuse. After recovering from his heart attack, there was no way we were sending him back there. He is now at a facility nearby which has been providing much better care, where staff smile, are friendly and actually answer the call bell light timely.
CareOne is the WORSE of the WORST. My GOD, the poor old people imprisoned in these so-called "skilled nursing facilities!" They'd get better care in a JAIL, instead of criminal places like these that charge 12, 13, 14 THOUSAND dollars a month, to NEGLECT OR ABUSE ELDERLY PEOPLE!
There is a CareOne in Evesham, New Jersey, which I hope gets closed down SOON, and if I have any say in the matter, CareOne at Valley and CareOne at Pascack Valley Medical Center, both in Westwood, New Jersey, CareOne at the Cupola in Paramus, NJ and this GOD AWFUL "Home Health Care" Agency, ASCEND, in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, which CARE ONE OWNS! These places ALL NEED TO BE CLOSED!
Stay away! Far away! The LIFE you save may be your OWN (Mother, Father, Grandparent, etc.)!
Tip for consumers:
CareOne are FOR PROFIT "Skilled Nursing Facilities" (aka Nursing Homes), operating mostly in NJ and PA, and are some of the WORST NURSING HOMES IN THIS COUNTRY!
For ANYONE looking for a nursing home, STAY AWAY FROM CARE ONE! Also NEVER use ASCEND HOME HEALTH CARE IN ROCHELLE PARK, NJ. CareOne owns THEM too! Very VERY BAD PEOPLE! We had to learn the HARD WAY! You DON'T!
