“Absolutely Best. Customer service EVER!”

Tia L.
3/4/22

Absolutely the best customer service I have ever dealt with. They were immediately responding to all my emails and messages. I have poor phone service and I ended up ordering about 6 appraisal paks. It was a mess I was afraid it would delay everything if not get lost in the process. I emailed with my concerns. I had shipped my expensive silver out with an overnight Fed ex label they sent and I was petrified i had something mixed up somewhere. They contacted me immediately and relieved my mind all was in order. I was updated every move every moment. I was in contact through text email and phone and always a real live person was there to talk to me no waiting! Package arrived there early and in less then 48 hrs from time I dropped the box off and it didnt go out till next day even. I got a very reasonable offer and I am extremely satisfied with my choice to use Cash for Gold. Wish I would have known this months ago instead of checking everywhere else. I will never go anywhere else and Highly recommend them. I also have been a seller on ebay since 1999. So I have a clue.

I was offered 1/3 of what my local jewerly store offered me. The items go in FexEx, but if they arrive Friday afternoon you have to wait until the next business day which is Monday to get the offer. I received offer that was way too low and declined. Now I have to wait all week to get my items back. Gold calculator on their site is not any where close to what you will receive. All in all a very back experience.

This is my second time using Cash for Gold USA, and the first time that I used them last year they offered me an offensively low price for my gold. They then called to work out a slightly higher price, and although it was still very low, I accepted due to financial difficulties at the time. This time, they've really ticked me off. They're still in possession of my jewelry and I just received an offer of $181 for over $1,000 in gold. I'm so disgusted that I immediately came here to leave this review. I'm definitely going to have them send my gold back to me asap. Seeing that they started at $181, there's no way that their second offer won't also be extremely insulting. I understand that they've got money to make too, however these people are literally trying to ROB YOU! How are they the #1 online store for buying gold with offers like this? Do NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I can tell you from using their services twice now that they're not interested in helping you make money, it's all about their bottom line. Oh, and I forgot to mention, my offer INCLUDED the 10% more money coupon that they give out if you send your jewelry to them within 7 days. Lol what a joke. Cash for Gold USA, you're a disgrace. You're ridiculous and insulting, and quite frankly should be ashamed of the way you rip people off. Or TRY to rip people off- lol. I'm not desperate for money this time, so take your $181 offer, and shove it-

! BEWARE! They pay you waaay less than what your gold is worth!

I sent in a 1oz fine gold coin, which was worth $1816 according to cashforgoldusa's own gold price calculator. Luckily in my case it was easy to determine the actual value cause I knew the exact weight and that it is fine gold.

The offer they sent me was $1300, which supposedly also included the 10% bonus! I called them and said that I know what my coin is worth and that it is insane that they are trying to make a profit of over $500 off my one coin! One minute later I was offered $1660, $360 more…

Do not just accept the first offer they make! This company is trying to deliberately rip you off!

Don't believe all that you read. Yes they do make it super easy to send your material in. The question you need to ask yourself is "why are they able to provide free shipping and such a lot of marketing and discount gimmicks?" It is certainly not because they are making such great payouts. The reason I called them was because of their claim of how good their payouts were. However, when I called, they were reluctant to give any quote until they had my product "in-hand"... even though I knew the purity and weight of my (in this case) silver ingots. I am a "hobbyist" refiner. My silver bullion is made from silver crystal produced in electrolytic silver cells. I know the quality of my product. Only when pushed did they reluctantly tell me that they would pay between 70% and 90% of the spot price silver depending on purity. Really?! For anyone who knows a little, 10% under spot on pure silver is not at all good. One might as well walk down to the corner pawnshop for that kind of offer. I told them this, whereupon the representative reverted to a script (this is my guess) and informed me that they would (of course) match any offer. This is how the rep proceeded to now divert the onus to me to go and spend my valuable time researching and shopping around just so that I could go back to them and prove how low their offer was (why would anyone do this?... seriously). Absurd. IMO the "modus operandi" is formed in exploiting uninformed people who do not understand the value of what they have and are just happy to get some money for their "stuff". I felt that instead receiving a fair, transparent, and "good faith" offer at the opening, I had been served a course of "smoke & mirrors" tactics. It was only after the call when I digested the conversation, that I realized that the majority of people calling likely know little about metals and values of scrap metals and are therefore just happy to get some cash. Of course this strategy is by no means illegal, or anything like that... perhaps somewhat unethical; and not exactly in "good faith"; or transparent. Frankly, I prefer to deal with persons who are upfront and transparent... If I tell you I have 60 toz of three nines fine silver, just tell me what you will pay me in relation to spot. Don't try to feed me a bunch of reasons why you cannot give me a straight price as related to spot until you actually receive the product in-hand. Usually, I don't write reviews, but these kind of business practices really irk me. So, if I can provide a little information that will help some lesser informed people make better decisions, then this has been worth my time to sit and write.

Gave me an absolutely horrible offer $235 for platinum, gold, and multiple diamonds and then claimed it's because it was marked up 20x the value. I have had my jewelry appraised and the appraisal was the value I was going off of not the purchase price. Then they mailed my stuff back rather than sending it FedEx. It wasn't even in the box I sent it in, it was left in a bag to be tangled and damaged and then no signature was required and thousands of dollars worth of jewelry was dropped off at the wrong location and I had to track it down. When I emailed them they said I had to call the police and ZERO acknowledgment of any wrongdoing. RUDE and HORRIBLE customer service with blatant disregard for your things or their value. NEVER AGAIN!

Tip for consumers:
Don't trust them

Although customer service was ok my offer was a third of what I should have been offered- I'm not dumb I tested and weighed everything and even eliminated anything possibly doubtful and was still shocked by the offer but when they tried to accommodate me I said maybe if you double the offer and they did so anyone else should do the same doubling the offer was fair in my opinion

It seems to me that they're going to offer a 3rd first

I didn't realize that, merely by requesting a selling kit, I had agreed to terms of service that are damaging to the user. That meant that, after I realized I had accepted a lowball offer on a piece, I couldn't get it back.

Their BBB page is almost impossible to find and other another company name for a reason — they are afraid of reviews.

I was nervous about sending my jewelry from the mail despite Cash For Gold saying it was completely safe and insured. It turns out I had every reason to be nervous. They send the appraisal it. It is basically a Fed Ex envelope that is pre-addressed. I put my jewelry in there and brought it to Staples as they have an inside box that I thought would be safer as there is not a brick-and-mortar Fed-Ex where I am located. After that, $5000 worth of jewelry vanished. FedEx says there is no tracking number and tells me to contact Cash for Gold. Cash for Gold is telling me to contact Fed Ex. The insurance will not cover it because it was not scanned in before it vanished off the face of the earth. Cash for Gold says there is no proof I dropped it off. I lost a lot of money, Please do not make the same mistake I did. Take your jewelry to a local jeweler or a pawn shop.

Tip for consumers:
There is a huge unprotected risk in sending your jewelry through them. There is a chance you will loose your jewelry and it will not be covered by insurance.

I sent my jewelry to them to be appraised and to get an offer for purchase.

This place is a joke! To begin with, I sent a 14k gold ring that I paid 800 for, 4 silver rings, a silver bracelet, and a 14k gold necklace with a gold pendant. They only wanted to give me 55 dollars and 67 cents! For all of it! And the website states if you decline their offer they will immediately return via priority mail within 24 hours.not the case! They wanted to hold onto my jewelry and not send it back! They were still trying to make an offer of just 88 dollars when I already told them to send it back. I had to call 4 times just to get it shipped, which I am still waiting on it! The lady told me yesterday it would be overnighted.lie.the tracking number says it won't be here until Friday night! WTF! People, sell your jewelry else where and don't waste your time! You would be practically giving your stuff away! And plaid games with when you decline! If I could give them no stars I would!

This company is not all they claim to be...
Here is the test: Weigh your gold and send your gold to Cash For Gold. Then, wait for the super low ball check that you receive in the mail because this is the only way they do business. They won't contact you at all but will send you a check in the mail for PENNIES on the dollar for your stuff. When you receive the check, IMMEDIATELY call them and let them know you want your stuff back and VOID the check. Then, wait for your gold to be mailed back and send it to another one of the better known gold buying companies. I guarantee you that the offer you get from Cash For Gold will be MUCH less than any other company that you send the exact same amount of gold to. As a test, I sent 3 different bags of 14kt gold to 3 different companies, with each bag containing 9 grams of 14kt gold. At the time, gold prices were reasonably high (over $2,000 an Oz) and I knew what to expect as a fair price for 9 grams of 14kt gold. The Cash For Gold offer was so much lower than the other 2 offers I received. I actually laughed when I received the check from Cash For Gold and immediately voided the check, called them and requested to cancel the sale and for them to send my stuff back. I still have the voided check and I have posted it here for your review. Cash for gold lied on the Trusted Pilot website. They responded to my review that I posted and said they have never done business with me in their 15 years of doing business. Trusted Pilot does not allow you to upload attachments so I could not catch them in their lie and post this check. But, this site does allow attachments and this check proves that they LIE. CFG "says" they are a 5 star company but, They are not. But, PLEASE don't take my word for it. Give them a chance to let you be the judge. Try my test and see for yourself. They do not give you the best offer when selling your gold, they low ball you badly. They show a gold calculator on their website which shows how much your gold is actually worth but when you send it in to their company they try to offer you about 20-25% of the actual price that your stuff is worth. I do understand this business and would understand a 50% offer to sellers but not a 25% offer. Anyone with experience in buying/selling gold knows that is a very low offer. Cash For Gold did send my gold back to me as requested and they did not keep any of it. But, you need to read their instructions to get your stuff back and you need to act fast. My gold weighed the exact same as when I had originally sent it so, they do send your stuff back if you meet their deadline to approve or deny the sale and request it back and DON'T CASH THE CHECK!. RESEARCH people. Do not accept the 1st offer from any company. Check at least 3 companies and compare the prices. Don't accept the first offer. Call and negotiate if you don't like the 1st offer. If the company won't negotiate, go somewhere else. I did... TRUSTED PILOT, you need to allow reviewers to post pictures with their reviews so that the reviews given are more trustworthy and proves what the reviewer writes. I have a voided check showing my offer from Cash For Gold, the weight and type of Gold sent and date sent. This proves that my review is real and cast doubt on any rebuttal from the company. Please consider opening up this option for people. Displaying a "date of experience" does not show that a review is genuine. But, PICTURES DON'T LIE... CFG lied in their response to my trusted pilot review but let's see what they say about this review...

I've dealt with this company a couple times. The first time I ever sent anything into cash for gold USA, the offer they sent me was way higher than I expected. The second time I sent something in the offer they sent me was low so as we were messaging I told them I thought it should be more and they basically doubled it. There were some things in there that weren't real gold. They even sent the items that weren't real back to me. Which I had no use for but I thought that was pretty cool. People have such bad experiences because they make bad decisions like clicking "send me a kit" versus The link directly above it that says "overnight FedEx label" I totally recommend them just don't accept the first offer. Communication was without a doubt the best I've experienced. I failed to mention that I worked in a pawn shop for 10 years so I kind of know a little something about gold. Just because you have digital scales and can copy and paste gold content from Google does not make you an expert in gold. Haters are going to hate, but think about the people that you know that are haters... For the most part they're Karen's and they're idiots.

With gold at record levels I decided to sell some scrap gold I had. Unlike many uninformed consumers we are a commercial business with digital scales, the means to assay gold, and we keep up with current gold spot prices. First it took about 5 days to get the "mailer" which is very small. I had a hard time fitting everything in the supplied mailer. Second, the mailer goes USPS which took almost 4 days from VA to Mass and the same on the return trip back. At the time the mailer was received the spot price of gold was over $2K. To determine gold value using grams, it's 28 grams to an ounce, or 31.******* grams for a Troy ounce. Take the spot value divided by the gram amount of gold you have, equals the value for 24K, to determine value at 18k take the 24K value times. 750, equals the value at 18K, for 14K the gram value times. 585. Bottom line is I already had the weights and approximate value determined before I sent the gold. The amount offered by cashforgoldUSA, initially was below 50% of the spot value for gold! I actually hit the accept button on the acceptance email by accident but emailed them immediately to tell them I wanted my items back, the offer was a ripoff... crickets, zip, nothing. They would not return my emails. I called and they answered the call, after giving my name they asked me why I wanted my things back and I told them they were trying to rip me off. We went back and forth and they offered a little more for specific items which I agreed to. Not because it was great or fair offer, but because I just wanted to be done with these people. Out of state law suits are not profitable ventures for items less than 15-20K dollars, and they recognize this. You would have to fight with them in Mass. Courts. So you read the great 4 and 5 star reviews... me too. Here's how they get those. Ever wonder why there are no reviews under 4 stars. Not because everyone is so happy with their deals. After they send you the offer and you accept, like lightning they send an email asking for a review. I tried to post one with 1 star, multiple times... would not go through, 2 stars same outcome, 3 stars, same. So they only accept 4 and 5 star ratings, making it harder to get an honest review of this place. Go to ripoff reports or the complaint board and you'll get a better understanding of this business. I would not recommend this business to anyone. RUN AWAY from these axxhats! Don't believe the claim they pay 3x more than anyone else in this business. Absolute B. S, I happen to know that is a lie, they do not! I forgot, so you remember:"if it's too good to be true, it probably is". That said there are some honest, fair gold buying sites online. Unfortunately based on my experience, cashforgoldUSA is NOT one of them.

I sent some coins to these people and they didn't even look at them it look like. They put everything in a box and sent it back. Don't use CASH FOR GOLD USA because they don't want your stuff they should be called CASH FOR RIPOFF USA!

Tip for consumers:
I feel like I was ripped off for the first time in my life. I sent my stuff off to someone who I trusted and then I got my stuff back all in a disarray. I don’t care if it’s a company or not you treat my stuff the way you treat others out of respect.
