Cronychat

I am a parent, and my boys love to get online and communicate with others. I found them on this site, and at first was very concerned. But I honestly have to say that cronychat is by far the safest place online for my boys to chat. The staff there are always alert and help keep it really safe and kid friendly. Thank you cronychat for being such a friendly place.

I am a chatter of many years experience including many years experience as a moderator and administrator of major chat sites. I also have extensive programming and web design experience.

Within 5 minutes of looking at this site I have found very basic issues that make it unsafe for young chatters. This is not even at the programming or web design level. There are weakness that even the least skilled person who wants in for nefarious reasons can get in and get a position of responsibility.

Checking out their YouTube videos the people running it are at the very least naive.

I attempted to bring up its issues with one of the owners in a reasonable adult way and was removed from the site no reason given. So its obvious they are not open to making improvements on the serious holes in their safety procedures.

I won't go into the technical issues this site has only to say don't use your credit card there.

Now known as cronychat.net this site now has a new owner and moderator team with a different strategy for running the site. Cronychat has suffered previous issues from a former owner called Lions who according to sources was controversial in his approach. Lions no longer has any connection to Cronychat. The site and its moderator team has also suffered harrassment from users of a rival chatroom site.

An adult based in USA runs the administrative and development side of the site, whilst two brothers in their early teens based in Scotland or Ireland runs the moderation. The new team clearly have worked hard to take the site in a new direction, and their passion is clearly evident in making their site safe and successful.

The focus of he site is on user safety, and they have made efforts to advise users on internet safety. They say they have formed a partnership with a police force to help monitor the site. They have a domain certificate in place, and have worked hard to try to make the site secure. I believe they now have new chatting software in place.

I came upon the site by accident, and unless you know the domain name or have the url saved, you will find it hard to find the site in its current form. The site consists of one chat room which is open to everyone of all ages. There is some confusion as to which target market this site is aimed at, but a lot of content seems designed to teens.

The team of cronychat in their enthusiasm has added rather too much content onto the site, slowing the site down, and also giving it an appearance of clutter and confusion. The times I have visited the site, it did not have much user activity.

I think the site has a lot of improvement needed, but it looks safe, colourful and interesting with new content appearing each day. I think a focus on quality over quantity might benefit the site.

Keep your kids away from this site... It is very dangerous. This site is run by a man that frequently creates accounts on well known chat sites posing as a 13 year old boy.

I am the father of a boy who used to chat at this site. After hearing some rumors i did some research of my own and found that the chat infact is run by a middle aged man that himself has created multiple accounts of teenaged boys... he poses as them to lure in kids.It is a very unsafe site please stay away.

I am filing a law suit against cronychat they lie and bully and so I am going to google and nickelodeon there main sponsor and file a complaint lets see how long this mean site last and when u give them money nothing said no refund when it comes to do right the refuse to refund

Cronychat is a lovely chat site it is now cronychat.net. However most of the reviews your seeing are grown men, and women trying to stop a sweet 14 year old now. Boy from creating a much safer place for teens to chat online. These people commenting are from a site called chat-avenue. Heres what I want you to do. Go into chat avenue... a place called boys chat... see the content in there... then go into cronychat and see the big difference... IM A PARENT and I let my kids chat at cronychat its that safe. They do NOT allow adult content whatsoever, and its very friendly and encourages my kids to use their manors and behave. Their self confidence has went through the roof since they began using cronychat as a way to kill time.

This place is nothing but a meat market for a mid 30's man. This unemployed man begs for money and only wants to recruit 13 to 17 year olds. Sounds off right? IT IS! This guy has been caught in so many lies. He pretends to be a 14 year old called "Lions" beware this place is no good and nothing but a trap.

I recently have been in search for new chat software for my chat site. In doing so I started testing various software, and came across minnit.chat. Then I noticed the site jabber reviews on it, and came across another chatmaster who had already ran the software. His review on the software checked out to be true, so then I decided to check out his site. So this is what I have discovered, and to dis-associate any of the many negative reviews you see here, I will explain my overall experience.

I can tell you that I don't know where the idea of a scam comes into mind, because from what I gather it is completely free to use, and all I see as far as purchase options is a voluntary contribute button. That doesn't seem to bad because the price ranges are from $5 to $20 dollars, and is not a condition to even use the services.

I also seen reviews regarding the fact that the site is unsafe. Compared to the likes of other chat sites, and even my own, that couldn't be further from the truth. I first went in with a guest alias. I didn't want their administration treating me any differently than a regular chatter. I not only felt safe but I actually had a really fun time chatting with their regs.

Other rumors claim that their chatmaster could be or is a "fake". Well this is also not true becuase, recently as stated I found myself in search for new chat software, and I ended up shortly thereafter contacting their webmaster via video call. If Lions is 31 as you claim him to be, then hes the youngest looking 31 year old I have ever seen.

This to me, seems like pure competition from other chat sites, trolls, bullies, how ever you want to spin it. Because some of you have mentioned comingn from chat-avenue.com and then thats when I put on my questioning face. Your tactics to defame this site... I am talking to those coming from chat-avenue are very hypocritical don't you think? Mean the constant grooming that takes place in your chat site, should leave you speechless when it comes to any other chat site. chat-avenue.com is a breeding ground for illegal online activity.
The rules listed at cronychat are detailed, to cover user safety, with detailed instruction tools for moderators and staff, and clearly defines that the site is not used for dating, and it states that crimes such as grooming are immediately reported to authorites.
After speaking with Lions he informed me over the last year 8 arrests have been made on charges ranging from grooming, to even intent to commit. Ill stop at that.

The staff at cronychat were very nice, and didn't come off as German Nazi Prison Guards. I felt very safe using the site, and they have all the features that a chat site should have.

For cronychat being a small time operation they have all the features the big sites do, and they run their chat site better.

For those of you that are reading this, before you pass judgment stop on in and meet the people at cronychat, then go over to chat-avenue.com and log into kids chat or girls chat and then you can see where most of these reviews are coming from. Then ask yourself if these other reviews are even plausible. Mean would you trust a burgler with your 60 inch flat screen? Then why would you trust anyone coming out of chat-avenue with a honest review on a chat site?

Take it from my there is nothing wrong with cronychat, as a matter of fact I really enjoyed myself.

As a mother i checked this site out.
I wanted to see how safe it was.
On the face of things it seemed like a good safe site for teenagers.
The owner and site creator, a 13 year old boy called Lion's seemed friendly and was always in attendance.
I started to here rumours as to who this 13yo really was, so me being me i did a little digging and to my horror he is infact a 30plus male.
He has many facebook profiles, and at least 3 of them being teenage boys.
He runs a website called junior webmaster club, for teenagers where he often rewards boys with prizes of money. I'm not sure why.
He also puts fake reviews up on his crony chat forums and here of parents saying what a wonderful site crony chat is.
Most of his chatters on the site are him double chatting.
Now i don't know about you but i find a grown man pretending to be a 13 yo GAY boy a very worrying aspect as to what his motives really are.
I really do think its only a matter of time before the cops are knocking on John's door wanting answers

I have chatted here for a long time and also paid for the site before realising that the owner is a fake.
It's been a horrible experience and don't ever sign up for crony chat ever.

This is a not a safe site first of all lions knew that wolverine and bhoy are peados and still hired them as mods even though he had proof now they been sacked but he allowed wolverine back even though he know hes a peado 2nd is they go to other place of the internet to attack people and plan attacks elsewere 3rd thing is that they talk kids into buying premium take the money then ban people without a refund these people can not be trusted and dont know how to run a chat site stay away! And 4th thing lions has about 8 people in cronychat which is lions himself not to be trusted

Nothing like the other sites I have been to. Very welcoming friendly atmosphere. And for once no pervs or trolling.
