After a week of back and forth the owner and a co-worker came to give me an estimate on my clogged outdoor patio drain. They determined it needed a high power wash out and a new French drain. They charged $150 for the est but said it would go towards the $800 bill. So I paid them. About a week later 2 people showed up that were new. I wasn't told it wouldn't be the same two that we talked to. So we had to explain all over and they had a different plan. They did not clean out the drain, they dug a bigger French drain. They also repaired a leaky pipe that was causing the flooding, it was at the faucet where they dug. They went to the local h/w store got a piece of pipe. The materials cost $49. They billed me for $1,122! They charged $280 for the pipe leak which took less than 1 hr to repair. On the invoice they noted a discount of $150, but I had paid it, so it wasn't a discount. In total I paid $1,122. I txt the owner later that night and said I was really unhappy he charged me so much for the pipe repair and that his $800 est included clearing out the drain and a cement bowl for the French drain, neither were done. He said he didn't want me to be unhappy so he said he would refund some or use towards next visit. I told him there would be no next visit. I gave him my zelle information or asked him to return my check and I would rewrite him a new one. He never got back to me. Avoid this bait and switch Co. They are not professional nor fair.
I contest the $280 for less than 1 hr. I did not get the materials invoice and they should have only charged me for the pvc pipe, not the rocks as that would have been included in the $800 as was a cement bowl that wasn't even used. A ledgit charge for an hr of plumbers work $85 but I agreed a refund of $180 was acceptable. They ignored my request. I reported to BBB, Yelp and my Nextdoor App.
