Fingerhut is an absolutely horrific example of how responsible and professional companies should act. I have been a Fingerhut credit account holder for over a year, without any issues whatsoever. On 8/23/21 they sent me two emails, one stating "Everything is fine with your account..." and the other congratulated me for my "1-year credit-versary", thanking me for being a customer. Then inexplicably, 7 days later they closed my account!? When I asked what happened, and why they would close an account just days after assuring me there were no issues, all I got was a generic copy & paste response: "We apologized for any inconvenience. Unfortunately, your account was closed on 09/01/2021 due to 12 months inactivity." When I asked AGAIN for them to explain how such a contradiction could be tolerated, they once more completely ignored all my questions, instead sending another generic copy & paste response telling me I could go to their site to re-apply?! They also repeated their offer to answer any questions, which couldn't be more disingenuous as they have shown twice now, it is an empty uncaring promise they have no intention of keeping.
When a company with integrity makes a mistake, they must TAKE RESPONSIBILITY, not stick their head in the sand and pretend like they are anything but a failure to those they pretend to assist. This astonishing lack of integrity shows that Fingerhut cannot be trusted, and there is no way I would EVER consider buying from them, let alone trusting them with another application after they have shown their true colors.
