The app is crash-prone... unacceptable! Especially as one of the most expensive streaming services out there. Also has a lot of counter-intuitive design in-app which is just like, why? Do their coders not understand the human mind? What is so difficult about just copying Netflix? Why do I have to press play TWICE?! For the longest time there was no way to just simply go back to a show's main page if you had already started an episode. These things seem simple & common sense to me, which is why I will not pay a premium price for a service they apparently give minimal effort. Not getting my dollars!

We have subscribed for more than a year. Based on the materials available; they should pay the subscribers. New items are added at a pace that makes glaciers look fast moving. And, where did they find the combination of rubbish, obscure, and ancient movies? Truly a waste of time.

HBOMAX is full of bull... Keep in mind that they will NOT refund any money. I subscribed to HBOMAX and to get the best value I got an annual membership which was $149.99. After 6 days my husband and I decided to cancel the subscription since most of the movies were really old and the new one, that they had advertised that we wanted to watch was no longer available. When we cancelled the service, this is where all our trouble started. They refused to refund us any money. Even though we only had the subscription for 6 days when I cancelled it. I would NOT recommend them to anyone.

I signed up for the annual plan and was very excited. Used it for a bit and suddenly when I would log in, I would be prompted to choose a plan. When I checked the status of my subscription on the app it said it had expired. Seeing as I had not chosen to cancel and had ben billed, I tried to get the service working. I had to to chat with 5 different people because every time they were "looking into it" the session would time out due to THEIR inactivity. I had to start sending random messages as they looked into it to try for it to not time out but just a little distraction and DONE. No follow through on their end. Then I proceeded to e-mail them. They asked for info. And I sent it and in the next few days sent e-mails asking about it and they never got back to me after 2 weeks ("Jonathan J" was the advocate so be sure to be ignored of he gets your case.) After SO MUCH frustration to try to get a service I ALREADY PAID for running and absolutely NO interest whatsoever from the company to fix the issue I decided to call (third means of communication over a DUMB problem they should have fixed in minutes). Between holding and the customer service advocate "looking into it" I spent AN HOUR on the phone. At this point I just told them to give me my money back. Two days later and nothing. I am giving them a couple more days and if they continue to just flat out ignore the fact that their system is not working and they are charging me for a service I can't use and clearly do not give a damn I am going to call my credit card company to deal with it. I have never had such a TERRIBLE customer service experience before. They do have some good programming but it is not worth their complete lack of interest in their customers and clear lack of knowledge regarding the workings of their own system. Hard pass.

It is the worst streaming movie app ever. Fire the team and hire folks from apple or Netflix!

I paid for HBO MAX through my Roku and at first I was already logged in from a time I had it b4. But NOTHING would play, so I logged out n back in and it wouldn't take my email n pw, so I reset it, now I can't even log in. They literally just ripped me off $17 and for NOTHING! I have spent 3 hours on this on my DAY OFF for NOTHING! I am LIVID!

Was not thrilled with HBO Max. I got it as a free trial with AT&T and thought I would try it out. The HBO content is good (as already known), but I had issues with the trial and contacted customer support. I was completely unable to contact anyone by phone and chat was the only available option. I used the chat feature and am convinced I was talking to a bot. The person was completely un-personable and continued to try and suggest shows to watch (as if I didn't actually have a problem I was trying to fix), how frustrating!

They were ultimately not able to help me, and the person said they would send my issue up to the "Specialized service team". They got back to me (10 days later!) and still absolutely useless. Again seemed like a bot. Form email saying they are sorry they couldn't help but that's the best they can do. I responded and got another... wait for it... IDENTICAL form email saying why they couldn't fix it. No offer to call me and discuss the issue. No offer to make it right. Just goodbye we cancelled your subscription?

I could not believe they are willing to lose a possible long-term customer (with repeated $14.99 payments!) over a simple issue that could have been resolved. AWFUL customer service!

Take my advice because when you do encounter a problem, you will get nowhere! Stick to Netflix and Hulu and Disney +!

Hbo max app downloaded from google play store DOES NOT WORK. It will play for 10 min than say error code 321. I tried it with a zte blade prime phone to chromecast and a lg journey to chromecast on 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz, always the same, error code 321. It worked fine for the 1 week free trial. Screw these pay for apps. Im going back to torrenting, if its copyright infringement or video piracey, so be it. Its 2020, it aint like they cant find me. THE HBO MAX APP DOESNT WORK. IT DOES WORK GETTING HBO MAX THRU AMAZON PRIME. ALSO HBO MAX CLAIMS TO HAVE MORE CONTENT THAN HBO NOW, PURE BULL$#*!. IVE DONE SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISON, THE HBO ON AMAZON PRIME HAS MORE CONTENT.

I like this service it doesn't try to trick us like netflix and hulu or add fees for services we were already paying for. I can start it and cancel it when shows I like are on.

I just love watching HBO, especially their TV shows, they are just different, so good. I watched yesterday The last of us, and as someone who is fan of video game, I think they filmed at least first episode in right way - scary, good, they finished the episode in such a good way that I can't wait for second one, that's the try quality of TV shows!
