I purchased a new/used car off a leasing line with only 16,000 miles on it. Since I live in a very small town, I hardly drive it and put very miles on it. I walk places instead. However, I took a trip up into the mountains to stay at an Historic Inn. The car hydroplaned at 15 mph on wet pavement and smashed into a metal railing resulting in over $11,000 of repairs. If the railing had not been there, both myself and my service dog would have been killed, tumbling down the mountainside. The insurance appraiser was horrified to discover that the vehicle was sold to me WITHOUT TREADS ON THE TIRES! The auto body shop repair man (who has been in business for over 50 years) could not believe I would be sold a car in that condition. He told me he had another client bring in three cars from this same dealership to be inspected. Once he got them up on a lift he could tell all three cars had been in major accidents and told this client not to purchase them. I wish I had thought to have him check out my car. After it was repaired a month later, the car stalled out in the middle of a highway leaving me and my dog dangerously stranded. Two weeks after that, I received a recall notice from Toyota that there was a major defect in the fuel pump system which would cause the car to stall out unexpectedly. When I called this dealership's service department I was rudely dismissed and told I could never have my car serviced there again. When I asked why, I was told it was a "management decision" Then I asked to speak with the manager. He screamed and shouted at me over the phone accusing me of harassing employees (?) and that if I "dared to show up on the premises, he would have the police there" and then slammed down the phone receiver. I have never been so outraged in my life. I have had a clean driving record for 45 years and now as a result, my insurance rates skyrocketed by 300%. I wrote a negative review on their website and they posted nasty malicious comments about me on the internet and that I had "falsely blamed them". Do not be deceived by their slick showroom and obsequious salesmen. These people are downright crooks. I noticed that on their website they listed all the five star reviews first, but after you kept scrolling through the pages you will find one star reviews written by enraged customers who had similar experiences to mine. If you value your life, your family or your pets, take your business elsewhere, otherwise you may very well end up dead.
