Don't purchase Morimoto C6 Vette lights counting on rebate, My guess is they will be rejected, and not returned! New lights are sorta cheap looking, No instructions at all. Wish I would have researched better and made a different choice

Lights are quite good, but the paid to trade is a farce and not properly explained on their website. They are apparently concerned about "fraud" which I found quite ridiculous. The convoluted explanation below from their customer service agent explains how they avoided this on this occasion.
I wanted to recycle the OEM lights, the money was less of an issue. I am not a dealer. They wasted my time.

I will never buy Morimoto products again.

"Thanks for getting that information back to me.

Seeing that your proof of purchase is from a distributor of Morimoto would lead me to believe that you are a dealer for Meyer. I'd like to clarify something with you. This rebate program is a consumer rebate. So, if you as a dealer of Morimoto products are selling these to the end user, the person who would qualify for this rebate is who you sold them to. So with that said. I can not process this claim based on the proof you provided. I do apologize.

To learn more about this program you're more than welcome to reach out to myself or someone at Meyer who can give you more information it doesn't look like your contact fully understood how Paid to Trade works.

Again, I do apologize.

Jenn"

I ordered a set of headlight assemblies for my 2019 f250 - These were $1400.00 lights advertised and top of the line upgrade over the stock halogens. Installation is fairly involved as you need to disassemble the front of the truck. I got the lights installed (about 2 hours) and the drivers side light did not work.
It was Sunday and I needed the truck for work on Monday so I put the originals back in and boxed up the Morimoto lights. Total time was about 3 1/2 hours.
I called the dealer where I purchased them and they told me to call Morimoto direct and that the company had great service and would replace the defective light.

I called Moromoto, explained everything (Note: I am a very competent mechanic and work on cars and trucks all the time.) They told me to reinstall the lights and shoot a video of them not working. Remember, it took me 3 1/2 hours the last time. I said no, I can explain this very simply, The passenger light works fine but the drivers side blinker does not work. The guy I spoke with clearly understood the lighting systems and installation procedures. I don't think he believed that I know what I was talking about. I shot a video of the lights in their boxes and explained in detail what was happening and emailed it.

I followed up in a few days - now this is where these guys really get crazy... There is not space to publish the complete email back and forth. I was polite and professional and they were crazy off the wall with requests.

I found out from a tech there that they had an issue with these lights and that a lot of people were calling them with problems. He said if they replace the lights the new ones still may not work. They wanted me to basically disassemble the front of my truck, install the defective lights and work with there engineers to find a solution. They would be sending me adapters, and circuit boards to install with the lights to see if they worked. - My truck would be out of service for several days or weeks as they tried to solve the problem.

These were very expensive ($1400) headlights and I needed my truck to work.
The humorous side was the arrogance of their tech support. They simply did not understand why I wouldn't disassemble my truck, install the lights and work with them for a few weeks. There was a cultural mis-match here. Morimoto is a Chinese company and the techs were all Chinese - this is not meant to be disparaging to Chinese culture. I do business in China and prior to covid would go there twice a year.
But... here in America, if you sell stuff... it's got to work or it gets returned...

They sell lights through dealers, the dealers have a 30 day return policy.
I was running out of time. I contacted the dealer, they at first were pushing me to work with Morimoto. I told them I was going to simply send them back and dispute the CC charge with Amex. I reviewed my email chain I had with Morimoto and explained how Amex will be on my side. The hole email back and forth with Morimoto was long and quite funny when you look at what they wanted me to do.
They gave me an RMA and I returned the lights. I still had to file a claim with Amex to get the credit.
