Got an email from them saying if I submit my answers to their long survey, they'll pay me a $5 ecard. A month later, all I get is excuses and the same form responses about how they keep their promises and how my payment is processing. Contacted BBB and they said they'd send me $5 in the mail weeks ago. Nothing. Told it was processing. Then told to contact on their site, which is where I started! I even complained on their Twitter and they hid the comment! Sketchy thieves.
I received their survey in the mail and discarded it. Sometime later I received another request. They sent $1 with the promise of $20 when they received the completed survey. I had heard of Neilsen and the survey only took a couple of minutes. My phone number was not required and I did not provide it as I did not want them calling to follow up on this or any other survey. I did not research the company. Although $20 is not a lot of money, it has not been received. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.
I was invited to be part of the Nielsen community. They installed tracking equipment in my TV, PC, and laptop to gauge what shows I was watching. Several months pass by and the Nielsen reps called me repeatedly that they couldn't get a read on the equipment. This was after the repair technician came to fix it. The equipment is janky. Not worth the meager payoff of only eight dollars a month.
