Ontario desperately needs an independent, impartial, unbiased, third party, arm's-length, non-lawyer, LEGAL OMBUDSMAN. The public has NO PROTECTION from incompetent, greedy, dishonest, unscrupulous, self-serving, self-policing Lawyers! My Lawyer did not keep any time-sheets and then sent me lump-sum, guesstimated, inflated, unverifiable invoices. My Lawyer did even submit the same time-sheet twice only with different dates! My Lawyer charged me for unverifiable, grossly-inflated, law office overhead items as third-party disbursements. My Lawyer called many unnecessary meetings for which he was unprepared. My Lawyer often stated that he would better-prepare for his own meetings if I paid him more! My Lawyer did not follow my instructions and then billed me for unnecessary, unapproved, and even secret filings. My Lawyer actually followed the instructions of the Defendant's Lawyer and even told me so. My Lawyer did churn my case endlessly with unnecessary court filings and procedures, and did not mitigate costs. My Lawyer charged me 2.5 hours of his legal time, to personally do court filings, instead of sending his secretary. My Lawyer never gave me any copies of his filings, because many of them were done without my knowledge. My Lawyer was incompetent, filed in the wrong jurisdiction and then refused to correct his mistake. My Lawyer was incompetent about case-relevant laws, and secretly amended his bad court filings. My Lawyer charged me for unverifiable, inflated, third-party disbursements without ever providing any receipts. My Lawyer charged me for 996 photocopies at $0.40 per sheet, for a single, simple one-page court filing. My Lawyer did practice extortion, by demanding $0.40 per photocopy to transfer my files to another lawyer. Write to Doug Ford and ask him why he refuses to act?
