I think you could make the argument that Optimism is the layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that will end up being the most decentralized. Granted that Optimism was started as a for profit, it has committed to giving away all its profits to fund ecosystem wide public goods and then later they plan to fully decentralize. I only wish they would move faster, but then again, they are, as far as I can tell, doing things the right way.
