“Don't touch Sinemia. They are now a scam”

They were legit last year, but quickly went down hill. They promised no additional fees for people who signed up for an annual membership, but after a few months, changed their terms and started adding fees. Then increased the fees. And now most people can't even purchase tickets. You get a generic error and customer service is non existent. Just check out the /r/sinemia sub on reddit. Its quite obvious they have made their app not work to save money.

Paid for a 1 year membership which wold allow me to see 3 movies/month. Then was told to be able to use it immediately I'd have to pay another 9.99. I paid that 'instant activation fee' and went through the steps to purchase a ticket. Then get told i need to pay convenience fees.

I never managed to obtain a ticket. They're quick to answer on Twitter to request a DM (there's no phone number to reach them) but not so quick to actually reply. I've had to file a dispute with my bank because I can't get an answer from sinemia.

Tip for consumers:
just don't bother

They have terminated my account without reason after approving my ID verification. Their support team was very unhelpful and unwilling to state the reasons why. I have not violated their terms of service.

Ordered the service and took forever to get the card and when the card came it did not work. Stay away from Sinemia, they have no customer service and they charge your card right away. People have wrote negative messages on facebook and they have all been deleted. They are a scam and are trying to hide the fact that they take your money and run.

I believe this company is horrible. After following all rules/directions for several months (and paying for a year's service up front) I was advised my membership was terminated for misuse. Not only was there no misuse, I followed all directions to the letter. They can keep the remainder of my money, but I can ensure you I will spend significant time warning people about Sinemia. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. Anyone reading this please contact me if you have questions and if you know of other websites in which I can publish this warning please let me know. I will publish this warning on a daily basis across the internet to ensure others do no experience what I have. Sinemia, I've got some information for you... your business practices are terrible, and now you've screwed someone who knows how to fight back. Let's begin.

Sinemia (plays on the word Cinema) had an ad on Facebook showcasing the opening day of Avengers: Infinity War with an $8.99 deal. For $8.99 a month, you could watch movies for free, starting with The Avengers. So I began to sign up. But it gets tricky - the $8.99 had a code which after I put it in would switch between $10.99 and $9.99. Then at one point $4.99. So I signed up hoping that the $8.99 offer would stick the way the ad promoted. Nope! I was billed at $9.99 a month for a year, which came to $119. But then I emailed with some questions and got no responses. So, if you have problems, like I already had, there is no prompt customer service to help you. Who needs this? Another company that wants your money but literally has a web of nobodies that will ignore you, frustrate you, and make you want to pull out your hair. Forget about it. I'd rather pay movie ticket full price.
