All these negative reviews amaze me. I've been ordering alarm panels and other equipment from Spytown since 2008 or maybe 07. In fact, I just received a box of Napco iSee cameras and other equipment from them yesterday, and everything was perfect. They had it all to me in 5 or 6 days from the time I placed my order. My only "complaint" might be that they don't always have a picture of what I'm researching on their site, but their prices are so good that the picture thing is insignificant. And no, I don't work for Spytown, nor do any family members, but I do have a Napco dealer account.

They have good prices but good luck getting the products. There is no phone number anywhere! They respond to emails 2-3 days later (after 2 emails). After 3 weeks, they cancelled the order! They did issue a refund though. Save your time and deal with someone else.

They have good prices but good luck getting the products.

There is no phone number anywhere! They respond to emails 2-3 days later (after 2 emails).

After 3 weeks, they cancelled the order! They did issue a refund though.

Save your time and deal with someone else.

No one's home. Tried to order on online. It didn't work. Tried to call no answer. After 15 minutes on hold, it told me the mailbox was full and try again later.

I have been in business providing security installations and service since 1990 and i would have to say when I first started ordering from Spytown the first 5 orders where delivered fast. When there is a significant problem for example your not receiving your order then there is never an answer unless you dial *67, they reroute your call they don't deliver your order unless you dispute then they claim your order is on back order afterward they claim the order is delayed. You will not receive your order and they will hold your funding for there own use. So they use your purchase as a loan to run there business. There fraudulent, may also be bankrupt and should be investigated. I sell items online myself from my website and if I can't deliver the product I then email my customer explaining the problem and ask if they want a refund or another product similar at reduced price!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE AND DELIVERY TIMES..., WAITED 3 MO FOR A MONITOR AND FINALLY CANCELED WENT TO ANOTHER SITE AND GOT IT NEXT DAY

I had the worst experience you can have with a company. I ordered an inexpensive detector on a Monday and they told me that since I lived a short ways away, it would be there Wednesday. I needed to leave at the end of the week for a month's business trip. I also asked for NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED, so UPS would not hold it up. I chose Spytown because of their proximity to me and would have paid to overnight the detector if I knew it would take a long time to ship. The guy in sales (John) told me no problem. Well it did not ship until Wednesday, they sent it Signature Required, and when I called them at during their normal business hours, some old man answered the phone and before I could get my question out, he hung up n me?! To make a long story short, I did not get it and it went back to them. Now I am fighting to get a refund.

Terrible customer service. Ordered a pretty expensive DVR, after a week the product was not delivered, I attempted to call them, 3 times electrontic "hold" and then disconnected. Thedy responded after sending a nasty email only to tell me that the item was back ordered for a month. Web site showed in stock. No place on the web site to check order status.

I would not recommend this company. Prices seem to be better than other web site resellers, but the mistakes, problems and headaches are not worth the slight price advantage, in my book

Absolutely the worst! Stay away.

They DO NOT respond to e-mails or phone calls. They DO NOT ship on time. We paid for priority overnight shipping, product NEVER arrived.

We had to call our credit card company and dispute charges.

"This is a revision to my first review for Spytown.com, in which I simply warned buyers to not buy product from them. I received a reply to this review from the seller that outlines just how little they get about customer service.

1. I ordered this product from Spytown.com off their poorly designed Yahoo Shopping Cart which makes absolutely no mention that the product is backordered. Nor that it might not be in stock. In fact it says "Product usually ships in 3-5 days". No problem I thought, I can wait a few days. Two weeks goes by, and I receive NO information from Spytown whatsoever.
2. I email them, no reply, so I follow-up with another email, no reply.
3. So at this point all of the remaining parts for the job arrive and I'm wondering what's up with my HID Edge Controller. So I call Spytown.
4. I speak with their sole customer service agent, puts me on hold, and hangs up or gets disconnected, whatever. I call again, goes to voicemail, I call again and I get to speak to him again. He informs me that "my product is shipping today, and it will be there very soon, and that he will send me a tracking number.
5. No tracking number arrives so I call him and he then emails me a tracking number, which has not shipped yet. But I'm at least relieved that the product is shipping. Whatever, I'll make my deadline.
6. The tracking number shows Delivered, but not to me, at this point I realise he sent me a tracking number for a product going to Texas, not Florida. In fact he gave me a status on the WRONG ORDER.
7. I call again to talk about this, and he informs me that the part should be arriving tomorrow or the day after. So I wait... another week, to hear the same thing the part should be arriving any day now. At this point I ask for my shipping to be upgraded so that when it does arrive, at least I'll get it a little sooner and maybe I'll be in a slightly less tough spot. He informs me that its backordered and he cannot upgrade the shipping.
8. Their Google Maps location photo is a poorly photoshopped picture of a building that's not theirs. They are in fact in a office complex, like most of us small businesses. Don't try to lie about what you are. Focus on service.

To conclude: I understand facts of business, I own one. I understand what backordered means. I also know how surveillent.com handled the exact same order for $3 more. Surveillent contacted me 15 minutes after I placed the order, and informed me that the product was heavily backordered, and that it would be approximately 30 days out. I did not request this information, they saw that as a customer I would be upset that my product did not ship promptly and they wanted me to be aware of that. They provided me all of this information without me even asking. I asked them to cancel the order via email and they replied back in less than 15 minutes with the cancellation confirmation. Look at the reviews below, and you'll see that this is common for SpyTown. They do not understand that communication is highly important in a business and somehow feel like clients are being unreasonable by expecting that they have an idea of how long to wait for a product to arrive.

If Spytown.com wants to fix this situation, they can upgrade my shipping, I get it, its backordered, but you didn't communicate that. Now me, the customer, is in a tight spot because of that. The least you can do is take the $15 you charged me to ship something that costs substantially less to ship UPS Ground, and redirect it towards upgrading my shipping to an expedited form. This will help me make MY client slightly less pissed that their project is weeks delayed."

The website appears to be cool the product I received appears to be functional so all is well the site was easy enough to follow.
